Not sure you can beat a 55" tv with a 5 year warranty for $240.

I always buy the 5 year warranty with deals like this as it's pricing is tiered, so ends up being cheap insurance.

The 43" is $149.99. I just picked one up to use as a monitor. I just surf the internet and stream videos. It should be fine for that. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/tosh...Id=6532119

Update: Set it up today and the picture and colors are better than the ONN 43" Roku TV it replaced (backlight was going wonky). The only thing is I hate the fire TV interface. The colors are warmer and more accurate, and since it's an IPS panel the side angle is viewing is better. Easily worth the $150 to me.

I bought the 50" last month for $120 - speakers are crappy - should I expect the same from this one? Nice price OP!

Hope you're looking at it as a disposable purchase. I got a 49" at Best Buy years ago when Toshiba's name was first again used. It lasted 16 months. Picture was great until there wasn't any.

I bought the 50" when it was on sale for $120 and honestly it's been fine. The UI is a tad slow and I'm sure the picture doesn't look as good as a high end TV, but it looks fine to me for what it is - a garage/pool tv. Couldn't be happier with it.

Isn't insurance on something like this mostly a scam though? If it breaks in 2 years, I would assume, I don't know from experience here, I would assume they give you just some prorated "value" of the tv — which is not gonna be much ..

It'd be awesome if they just replaced it with an equivalent but I doubt they do that. I feel like most of these insurance things are just a giant scam ..

I bought the 50" for 130$ last month, when I updated to TV OS through WiFi right out of the box it never booted up again. Had to return it two days later, really wanted to have a 50 inch 4k HDR TV for 130 bucks but it wasn't meant to be.

Usually they just send you a check for your original purchase price back. I haven't run into any that prorate it.

Personally, I'd prefer to get something durable, reliable, and repairable since that can have the best long term value, but on a really good deal I'll take a chance and purchase the usually cheap insurance.

I had two of the 50" model (only had two because Best Buy and UPS had a bit of an issue and ended up with the second one free). They worked fine, when they worked. Lifespan on each was just over a year.

I wonder if the quality of TVs has really gone downhill lately especially certain manufacturers

I've looked into buying a new TV after getting a refurb Vizio 5 years ago, but reports of having to deal with all sorts of problems have kept me on the fence. The insurance seems like a must now

My old one is still going strong somehow, so may just keep on keeping on

The bestbuy geek squad warranty is worth it. $40 for 5 years. If it craps out they will either repair for free or give you a new tv. (of the same tier obviously)

I've read reports that TVs running Amazon Fire now automatically unmute during commercials if you're watching something on Prime.
