This is a scam. They lock you into 36 month bill pay credits and you're buying the phone for $1300.

Worse, I was quoted $120 for my iphone when I called to verify the trade in value.

Very shady and misleading marketing tactics here.

I suggest everyone call and ask about the details of this offer.

The trade in value is indeed 120

You get 700 on top as a promo value for this particular phone

Nothing is misleading or shady

The key question people have is based on some small print being altered from last year's offer, making it possible they won't give full credit right to account which can then be requested back to CC

If you do it in store, it really is stupidly simple

Source: I've done three trade ins at Spectrum store. In and out in 15 minutes for each. Paid around 100 bucks out of pocket every time. That's all

Like many or most slickdeals, gotta keep your wits about you, do your research, and read read read

Also lol at calling CS. They don't know shit and can't be held to anything they say

Read the data points here instead. Have yet to fail me

Now I kind of (shudder) wish I had Spectrum internet..... fark, never thought I'd say that after going with TDS Fiber for the past couple years. Basically a free S25 (trading in a Pixel 7 for $765) and a free mobile line would have been a nice late Christmas present to myself.

I wanted to move to ATT fiber for same price as Spectrum but decided to wait another month for S25 to release. Glad I did.

Pretty much this, I urge all to do in store instead of online. It will save you so much pain. When you do in store, just make sure the rep knows the process and triple check the payment should be pay in full.

Can't even imagine shipping in a 1000 dollar phone and then waiting another week or two for it to be processed

Now if it's a janky ass old phone, it's okay. But I'd rather the Spectrum employee at store look at it for thirty seconds and no risk involved

And that avenue should still be open, pending some actual experiences and data points soon to come in a week or two once released

I think Spectrum finally fixed their system to only send you the trade in label when the new phone ships. They've had ppl (like myself) with new phone orders getting cancelled but already sent in their trade in and can never get the trade in phone back. Are you located in NY? Do you remember if you got taxed for the full value of the new phone or just the difference of the new phone minus the trade in?
Did you receive credits even though they canceled the order? In New York, they charge the tax after the trade-in value. They even refund partial tax if you do it online, but YMMV; one of my previous orders did not receive a tax refund. I think it is better to do this deal in-store since they do not offer the free storage upgrade and do not send a shipping label immediately after the order.

Don't stores usually only carry the base version (128G) instead of the 256G variant?

My Pixel 6 Pro gets $744. I'm doing it.
Did you order it? I actually like the 7a, but it's locked to Spectrum, so this gives me a chance to get rid of it. LoL.

I wouldn't be so confident that they didn't change the terms this go round with the $700 promo credit being spread over 36 months. I've been doing this deal for the past 2 years and they probably realized how many ppl sign up, get the phone, then bail after 2 months along with the free upgrades from S24 to S24+ to S24U. They were dumb and it never made any business sense. Now they are probably getting wise and implementing the 36 month credit to retain customers as evidenced by the change in the fine print language.

this is exactly I am trying to say after reading the fine print of credit spread over 36 months. People still keep referencing old story. It is 2025 not 2023 or 2024. Things changed and spectrum got smart.

This is why you wait and do it at a corporate store. No messing with mail in trade ins. No risk of credits. All taxes settle immediately. Very easy in store.

Somebody in another thread said this year the store will not accept the trade-in phone even if you purchase in-store. They outsource to a third party to handle the trade-in issue and so whatever you need to send the phone. He posted the chat but is unsure if the customer rep knows what he/she said.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank BeigeCircle3438

I contacted their Sales dept and after 20mins on hold they confirmed that if you pay lump sum, you'll get lump sum back rather than 36 months, unless you were doing a monthly 0% APR thing.

edit: I went to the store too and this was confirmed by one of their reps. "You basically pay the amount after the discount and promos" so no $900 and then you get a refund BS in store.
