Scenario A:
1. Go into Spectrum store and sign up now for the free mobile line with an old phone.
2. When the S25 is released, go into store and ask to "upgrade" my old phone to the S25 by paying it in full and getting the trade-in credit, while maintaining the free mobile line. This way, I still will not have to pay anything for the mobile line.
3. Wait two months and have phone unlocked.
Scenario B:
1. When the S25 is released, go into store and sign up for the free mobile line and do a trade-in for the S25.
2. Wait two months and have phone unlocked.
In essence, should I sign up for the free mobile line now with an old phone and do the device-only upgrade next week, so should I wait for when the S25 is released and do the trade-in and open the free mobile line at the same time in the store? Which scenario is recommended?

In store rep may have trouble signing you up for that free line, maybe
More reliable is Scenario A. And do step 1 of it online. If you qualify, you'll see the free line promo on Spectrum site when logged in. There's also a whole SD thread of its own, just search around
Then go in store and upgrade it
Of course, nobody has done the actual trade in with S25 and upgraded like this for this exact promo just yet
But above is basically what all I've completed in the process and what I intend to do in future too. Probably most straightforward, simple way to proceed
Hmm
You would certainly be able to do the offer and own the phone free and clear with the trade in promo
But it'd be Spectrum mobile locked unless unlocked after two month period. Which you won't be able to do (unlock it) unless on Spectrum mobile still
I can't think of any way around that
If you really want the deal, keep your Spectrum internet alive for two more months so you can maintain spectrum mobile out through unlock period time? Maybe you'd still come out ahead

Thanks! I guess I never looked into it but can I keep my mobile line active with them (and obviously switch to a paid plan) if I cancel internet ?
I don't think so!
"my question is once my tradein is accepted, can I get the 740 USD credit back to my credit card?"
"that is a good question, I can certainly understand your concerns with that credit. When you trade in the device, the trade in credit would be applied evenly throughout the duration of the monthly phone payments and not a lump sum credit. You do always have the option to pay off the entire device off after you trade in yours, and once it is paid off in full you would receive the trade in credit to your credit card in a lump sum. Otherwise the trade in credit is evenly spread out thought out phone payments"
but it seems that even if you select pay infull you still have a monthly 7.74 per month for 12 months? what is this charge?
