Does anyone who has done this in the past know if I will be able to unlock the phone after 60 days even if I did a sim swap?
I have a S23 Ultra and would trade in my extra Moto G Play 2023 phone. So, once I get the S25 I was planning to swap the sim back with my current S23 ultra, turn off the S25 wait for 60 days and then still be able to unlock?

I have done this several times in the last 2-3 years with fully paid off phones. I just gave the IMEI # via chat and had them unlock the phone after 60days.

Thanks. Did u have to keep the sim in the phone or using it on another device was fine?

I am not sure if this has been posted yet or not, but I received these phones yesterday from the QVC deal and did a dummy trade in with the IMEI number. And it appears to have accepted it at the $700 trade-in level.

Might be a good way to get a cheapo trade in.

I used SIM on other phones. When I login to my spectrum mobile account, the assignmentsof SIM and phone were incorrect but that didn't matter from the phone functionality or unlocking or crediting the tradein balance back to my credit cards perspective.

I am assuming after the 60 days one would need to contact Spectrum for unlocking the S25. Then once unlocked, the paid mobile line can be cancel. Right?
Yes that is correct, but it can be up to 67 days for the phone to be eligible for unlock.

Does this deal require a specific Spectrum plan, or can it be combined with an existing account?

Has anybody ordered and received the phone and shipping label for trade-in in and can share some info on the below items?
1. What are the steps after paying in full for the phone? (activate it, and..)
2. How do we get the credit to be refunded to our CC? (read in comments: what if they refuse to do refund via customer chat? is it that straight forward?)
3. How to unlock the device once the 60 days are completed?
4. after unlocking does it negatively impact the credit score of the account holder? (as paid in full it should not affect, correct?)

Thanks in advance community.
Below is my experience last year ordering a Pixel 8 pro and going through the trade in process

1.) Paid for phone in full, Activated the phone once received using the instructions provided with the new phone once received. Its just a few pages of printed info with really clear and easy to follow activation steps

2) traded in an old device. Assurant emailed me and provided instructions including a packaging slip. Shipped the old device to Assurant (Took a few photos of the phone's physical condition, including locking screen showing the device was fully restored back to activation screen/OS was wiped in case of funny business during trade in process or in case they rejected my trade-in)

3) I got an email from spectrum mobile when my device was in transit, another email saying my device was accepted.

"Good news! We've received your device and inspected it. You'll be receiving a Trade-In Credit of $xx for your device. In addition to your Trade-In amount, you also qualify for the Trade-In Promotion, which brings your total to $xxx. What's next?

You'll receive your Trade-In Credit. If you financed your new device, your credit will be applied evenly over the remaining installments of your device payment plan.* If you paid for your new device in full, the total credit for the confirmed value of your trade in, including any applicable promotions, will be applied in the next two billing cycles. If you don't receive your trade-in refund/credit within two billing cycles, give us a call at 1-833-224-6603. Have your offer number available."

Took about 9 days between device in transit to my trade in device being approved

4) Can't recall how long it took for the credit to hit my spectrum account (a few weeks?) as a negative balance. (trade in amount + trade in bonus offer amount)

5) use the chat function on the spectrum website (bottom right after logging in) to get the credit refunded to the CC used to purchased the phone. (will take a few days for the refund to show on your CC account online)

6) used the chat function on spectrum website on the 61st day to request a device unlock. The rep remotely unlocked my device and I verified through phone settings that it was fully unlocked before ending the chat.

7) no changes to credit score as far as i could tell.

This has been mentioned several times before in this chat chain. Bestbuy has the same phone (unlocked) 2024 model for $109 each if you don't prefer to deal with prepaid plans.

Thank you so much for this detailed explanation, it's my first time getting a phone from Spectrum so I was curious how it would work. Just one more thing, did they give you a prepaid shipping label for your old phone, and what shipping service was it?

I copied the assurant trade in instruction email i received from last year below. The email basically gave me a link to a pdf copy of prepaid shipping label. I did end up just reusing the box they sent my new phone in to ship my old trade in device back to them. It was either FEDEX or UPS. Can't remember the exact company.

Hi xxx,

Good news! We're ready to receive your device below for Trade-In. Your offer amount is valid until 3/28/2024, so make sure we receive the device by then.

Model: IPHONE 6S PLUS 32GB - ATT
IMEI: xxx
Trade-In Credit: $30.00

Is there any way to confirm step 5 of your explanation still works? Has there been a policy change with spectrum which now doesn't work and will make you go through 3 years of paying them to get the credit back?
