I personally didn't mind all the melee (I think I did remap the button because of how frequently they are required though) but some of the jumping sections were hellish....even for a game set in the dimension of hell.

I will say the DLC's are silly expensive compared to the base game.

I will not be buying a game from Bethesda any time soon. They messed up my account when they discontinued their own client; I tried to migrate to Steam and no luck. Their customer support is a joke too, they never got back to me.

Doom 64 is worth playing if you haven't already. Quite different from other classic Dooms, I found it had a nice mix of puzzle solving and combat.

I didn't know anyone actually played through Eternal. I thought it was that game where you see how sick your new rig runs and then end up playing something else.

I hate the over-the-top gore and the occult stuff, but still finished Doom: Eternal because it's that good. Once you get an hour or two into it, the speed and rhythm of the combat is unbeatable. They slowly introduce new weapons and mechanics over the fairly lengthy campaign.

Very annoying jumping sections of the game that made it feel more like work. Very limited amount of ammo you can carry at a time. There's too many customization that gets too overwhelming at times. I like the base doom game better. I was hoping for a good campaign story and improved battle dynamics, but both were not delivered with this.
