People need to stop saying this works like last year. If its verified it works this year, then good. But it seems Spectrum has changed their policy and its NOT working this year till someone verifies it. Don't make people spend money they may not get back without verifying it.
Where did you hear the policy has changed from in the past? It's too early to know for certain I would think as the phone is still in pre-order status.

Once carrier unlocked, can't you flash to XAA?
I did exactly that last time with S24 phones and its pretty straight forward. The software is called Odin and its very well known for flashing firmware with Samsung phones.

I read similar information from other threads.
Though, I don't believe you will 'lose' the money, but the credit would stay with the account which you can use for paying various spectrum fees (ex: internet, tv, mobile service...etc). You just cannot ask them to 'refund' back into the original credit card anymore.

I'm sure a quick FCC complaint would fix this.

According to their FAQ:

After your device is processed, you'll receive a credit for the assessed value. If you've paid for your new device in full, the trade-in credit will be refunded to your credit card within two billing cycles. Otherwise, a monthly credit will be applied to your Device Payment Plan in equal parts over the duration of the plan, starting within two billing cycles.

Is $1015 S24+ trade in value good towards any S25 variant (i.e. is it the same trade in amount, regardless of whether you get an S25, S25+, or S25 Ultra).

Have the S24+ and would either be getting the S25 or S25+.

Easier just do it in store.
Instant full credit applied and no hazzle

This is the best plan.

Yes, with the S24 last year there was extra storage by buying and trading online, but it wasn't worth the stress.

In store was instantaneous, and easy.

So they don't refund to your credit card once you paid off? It's just spectrum credit when you trade in your s24 ultra?
In the past (4 months ago), they gave me Spectrum credits and you can call them to move the credit to the credit card and they do that without any hassle. Just an additional phone call.

If the phone is fully paid off on purchase with trade in value, how long you need to wait to be unlocked?
60 days.

I was going to do this but then I read the terms, Seems they changed then to seperate the trade in value and promotional value which is the $700 which it says clearly will be applied over 36 months. Before the 2 were not separate. So I could see them refunding you the trade in value but not the promotional value with that being credits over 36 months. Last 2 times I went for similar offers no issues but like I said the wording is different this time. I would wait until you can get them in the store for instant credit. Also you can buy the Straight Talk Moto G play 24 at walmart for $30 and use that for trade in https://www.walmart.com/ip/seort/5243895448

PSA: the phone will be carrier-unlocked, but, this being Samsung, it will have Spectrum-specific firmware (CSC) - CHA type for those who know. This is different from the factory-unlocked CSC (XAA type). Most of the time it is not an issue, but - in my case with s24 - I discovered that visual voicemail would not work with Google Fi. So, caveat emptor!
I had the same issue but just flashed the Verizon firmware on it and it was g2g.

Directly from Spectrum support:

>>> Great question! If you pay for the new device in full on the order, the trade in credit will be applied in full to your account within 2 billing cycles. You can then request it to be refunded to your card.

i don't feel comfortable mailing in the trade in. in the past, did Spectrum local store carry S24 Ultra? i know they usually only carry the base model.....
I hear you. The issue I had with spectrum last year isn't entirely unique to spectrum but i went through hell when FedEx stole my phones.

I had 2 s24 on pre-order, and Spectrum's trade in says, you must send it in by XYZ date or it won't be valid. I figured I never had this issue before and it shouldn't be a big deal, but I mailed out the phones anyway. The new phones never showed up, and the fedex driver signed for our building's packages and just kept my phones. Spectrum kept saying that I signed for the phones and that FedEx said they delivered them.

I filed a police report and had a few months of back and forth with Spectrum, FedEx, until Spectrum finally refunded me. And of course this time the double memory bonus promo wasn't active and I didn't want to deal with the hassle of waiting 2 months, cancelling and hoping spectrum would give me a refund on the balance of the phones. They would have been willing to give me a whole 2 years of bill credits though. I decided to walk away from the deal and lose my trade-ins. Good thing the trade ins were just really obsolete android phones.

The TL;DR is that I would never send out trade-in phones again without having the new phones in hand.

But don't you have to mail in your trade in to the 3rd party Spectrum partner first? I didn't think the local store accepts your trade and instantly provides the credit?
When I got my S24U, I had one store tell me you always have to mail them in. I drove 15 minutes to another store and they took it with zero issues.
