I have no need for this, but really want it. If only I had really big pineapples.

Anyone know of something similar that would work well in really rocky soil? Been trying to do landscaping here and it's been destroying me. Even a 1' hole is can be a multi-hour endeavor with a pick & shovel.

Get and SDS hammer drill with the pointed bit, some safety glasses and you are business. Those SDS hammers will make light work of most obstacles. OR you can rent a real full size jack hammer from a big box store that will take care of anything bigger.

8" is a pretty big auger. The connection is for a auger, won't work on a drill and to big for a drill.

Florida has enough iceholes

That's a joke; I was raised in FL. Just wanted to say icehole and I've already used the fargin icehole joke on previous deals.

Thanks for the info about it not working with a drill. I was wondering about using this for turning a compost bin.

Manual post-hole digger is better than pick and shovel. If the ground is dry and compact, try to soak it. Use the post-hole digger until you hit a rock, dig it out and continue. With a lot of rocks, there is nothing short of a commercial unit that will make it easy.

Best option is something like this (which you can also find bundled with M18 drill/drivers)

ZERO reason to get this, until now :/

The 40v auger is handsdown the only reasonable option for a homeowner. Next step is Stihl which is expensive.

No other 1-man options are as good.

Get the 2" if you want to do the poor mans trench digging, then step it up to a 6 or 8 before you go to a shovel 😁
