Good Deal. I ordered when this was posted a few days ago and it shipped the same day. Unfortunately, the 3/8 model 2562-20 does not work with the coupon code. https://www.ebay.com/itm/176445562483

bought the 3/8 version from acmetools back in early this month for 10% off on the kit.
1/2 version isn't too bad, but since it's stubby 3/8 version makes more sense.
I would wait for another sale in Spring for the new stubby.

That's the one I'm patiently waiting for.

If you've already got 1/2" sockets this one is kinda justifiable, but 1/2" is hella overkill for the level of torque of the fasteners you'd typically be using a compact IW on.

Edit: Worded my 'overkill for this level of torque' statement to better reflect what I meant..

If I only want to change out my tires twice a year (summer to winter tires and back) and also keep this in my trunk for emergency spare change, is this the right choice or should I be getting some cheaper 12v ratchet?

How is 1/2" overkill for 550 ft/lbs, or heck the 400 ft/lbs tightening torque? The ANSI standard for 3/8 is only 150 ft/lbs, even 1/2 are only required to handle 250 ft/lbs. Like Tekton only guarantees their sockets to 1.3x the ANSI spec, so applying 400 foot pounds to a 3/8 is double the manufacturers proof torque, even a 1/2 would be exceeding the proof torque, but in that case only by ~20%. I'm sure there are sockets out there specced to well above the ANSI standard, but 1/2 is definitely not overkill for what the gen2 stubby can do

Why does everyone want the 3/8" version? Is it just because most people have mostly 3/8"?

Most powered ratchets (except human powered) won't do the torque.

Tires are on with usually 100 ft/lbs. Check the specs on the device before buying.

I am so tempted as I already have the 3/8 but hard to justify as I picked up the Dewalt 450lb torque 1/2" from HD for the clearance price of 128. Does anyone have both, and is it worth the price difference? I can always return the Dewalt
