Work - IPS
Play - OLED
Mostly Work + Some Play - IPS
Mostly Play + Some Work - OLED
50/50 - Depends on your eyes and it's sensitivity to PWM for OLED

I have the Sammy 57" ( Mini-LED VA Panel), the MSI 49" OLED, and the MSI 40" IPS.

My pick is the 57" Sammy ( 100 % Work )

The OLED ( MSI uses the same OD-OLED panels from Samsung ) is generally fine for work, but because of the lower PPI ( 109 Vs 140 on the 57" ) the text isn't very sharp. So, if productivity is your priority, get the LG IPS.

The OLEDs are gorgeous, and amazing for gaming and some work, imo. The IPS is a good compromise if your use case is a mix of both, depending on the ratio.
Instead of getting the free soundbar, you can instead select the 32" Ultragear monitor that shows up as one of the three deals. With these two, the total becomes $983.98 after the UW200 promo before tax and membership discount.

I tried adding the free sound bar to this, but the price increases once added to the cart. Support wasn't able to help with this, though others may have success.

Thanks OP for the heads-up on this! Much appreciated!

It depends on your use case and style. Are you concerned about productivity (reading text) or prefer gaming? Do you care about burn-in and do you care about mitigation strategies?

I'm using it for work (programming) 99% of the time and rarely play games. What is burn-in and what is mitigation strategies?

Burn in is uneven wear between the individual pixels that leaves a mostly permanent ghost image behind. If there's a static graphical element, like a taskbar or menu from an app you leave open for long periods, it might still be visible when you open full screen apps. There are different ways to combat it, like built in routines that shift the image slightly, but the best way to prevent it is by refreshing the individual subpixels randomly.
With games, you're usually changing the entire image regularly, if not constantly. That's fine. With programs, you might have the same image up for reference or different program elements, like the menu, status bar, console, etc. That's a problem. You can also have burn in is you only play the same game, due to health bars, crosshairs, chat boxes, etc.
As long as you vary your activities and don't leave the monitor on overnight with the same doc up, you're good to go. You could also go the retro route and use a screensaver (flying toasters!).

Was it too difficult to search here for "Samsung OLED" and find the $700 one?

is this actually still an issue? I have left an oled tv on for about 3 years straight now on the same image and there is no artifact or weird pixels

They're confirm. These other monitor prices are plummeting because the 4k will blow them all away

For anyone considering for work, I bought the G9 OLED about a month ago for around $550 with and love it. Picture is fantastic and I don't worry about burn in. Mostly use it for work with icons and taskbar hidden, and some gaming and entertainment in the evenings and weekends. Got it through their employee discount program.
