It is a 1000-nits mini-LED HDR1000 display which outshines any gaming displays in even the highest end gaming laptops and 120Hz is still good for gaming.

This is a very good price for this productivity/light gaming laptop, probably the cheapest one by far.

Yes agreed, that's why I bought it and posted it! Thanks for clarifying how good a panel it is.

My understanding is that the 4080 at 105w which this is rated for does outperform a full watt 4070, but of course does fall behind the full power 4080. I'd say overall better than just light gaming.

I've had bad luck in the past with CDW when they don't have laptop deals like this in stock when I order. They eventually just cancel my order since the distributor cannot fulfill the stock. I've had it happen twice in 2024 for Dell Precision 5000 series with dedicated graphics for under $1,000 which is a steal similar to this deal. They do not offer compensation or substitutes if cancelled on their end.

Great price! Although I'm not getting one, but damn it's a great price for the spec. I've bought 2 MSI stealth before, both were great. For the spec I'd say it is at least worth 1750$-1900. Oh and it has 3 year's warranty! Damn so tempting to get one but I really don't need it 😂. Btw it has no display port if anyone wants to set up dual monitor with it.

I left it up to chance. If they fulfil my order I'll keep it, otherwise it wasn't meant to be. Not going to get this price anywhere else. 1519.01 shipped.

seems to run hot from limited reviews of the creator series (same everything except maybe paint and screen).
16 inch screen is too small for 4k res. 120hz add extra stress and heat to the system.
the qhd version of the laptop has low revews on amazon.
all ports are on the side and not on the back.
restricted rtx 4080.

this could do well as a desktop replacement for work (great screen and specs) but it doesn't seem optmized for gaming (cooling issue, 4k@120 hz on a 16 inch screen with restricted rtx 4080)

That's what I'm thinking as well. I'm loving this 2024 Asus Zephyrus G14 4060 I just got but this deal is too good to pass up.

I own a MSI Stealth 17 with i9-13900H and RTX 4090 which is quite similar to this spec. The performance and thermal are the best for the size and weight.
R23 on 13900H ~21600, definitely among the highest scores ever seen for this SKU
Timespy Graphics on RTX 4090 ~ 17200, so a similar power budget 4080 maybe around 15000

Only downside is that MSI still lacks build quality

Can you explain what's a restricted 4089 and how does it perform against a 4060? I'm assuming you're referencing undervoltage which still outperforms 4060 and 4070

TGP on this is 105w vs some 4080 laptop @ 175w. It's hard to tell performance without benchmarks and your use case. It will probably outperform 4060 and 4070 but then you can get those laptops for a lot cheaper (4060 around 700 and 4070 around 900?) without a 4k 120hz screen dragging down fps or generating extra heat

I wonder if anyone has tried flashing the vBIOS on the 4080m in this to support a higher TDP

I would be careful buying MSI laptops. The build quality and reliability is poor in most lines, especially the hinges.
The only lineups with good hinges are the Titans and newer Raiders (13th, 14th gen Intel). If you want proof just look up MSI hinges on Reddit and YouTube. I personally experienced hinge issues on an older Raider.
Another point of concern is my understanding of the Stealth lineup is they invert the motherboard (meaning components are in the keyboard side instead of the bottom of laptop. This means heat will be closer to the keyboard and parts are harder to access for maintenance (like replacing thermal paste).
This is coming from a person who fixes laptops and even owns a 14th gen Raider (which I bought second hand dirt cheap).

Fortunately this one has a 3 year warranty, and the motherboard is no longer inverted!

I just returned a laptop w BSOD issues to Best Buy within the 15 day return window. I wonder how much of a hassle it would be to return to CDW if you have problems? Upon return, I purchased this ASUS ROG ZEPHYRUS G16 for $1100. I'm tempted to get this MSI instead???https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/fp/1053001
This post made me realize it's a low wattage 4080 at 105w marginally better than the 4070 vs I believe a 150w is pretty formidable.
