Sucks is went up $1, but it's still the best value for lump. I personally stick with Cowboy briquettes which is $18 for 40lbs.

Never used lump before. How is this for smoking compared to Kingsford briquettes?

Lump charcoal has significantly higher heat output compared to briquettes. You have to try lump charcoal, once you try it you'll never go back.

Hotter but do they last as long? A 2/3 bag of briquettes lasted me 11 hours yesterday at 275 degrees

Briquettes typically last a lil longer but can also depend on the quality of the lump charcoal. But you can use a lot less lump charcoal since it does produce higher heat.

Bought a bag of these and used them last weekend. They burn long and hot but lack any real flavor. If you need a long cook, I'd mix some Royal Oak or Wood Chips in with these.

Ok op deal can not be replicated. Oak charcoal is $16, the one in OP is $40. So it's a big fail to me

Not a big fail. Price is still $16 using OP's link. Try again.
