Totally missed this years ago when it was available on Netflix. Went to purchase through the link, and all 3 were offered in a deal for under $28 for me Texas sales tax included.

Seems strange to reply to my own comment. I'm wrong. It is the original version.

Nope. This is the American version of the Swedish original. Both are great movies. Enjoy
This is the 2009 movie with Michael Nyqvist and Noomi Rapace - not the 2011 David Fincher one?

edit: just saw you saw Smilie no problem lol

I wish this was the extended version, which I have on DVD, but for $5 I'd upgrade to blu-ray if it was the extended version.

Does 4k really make that much of a difference on non-action movies nowadays? or is just having the phyical copy a better upgrade?

This might not be a popular opinion but I don't think 4k makes much of a difference in any genre. Yes, if you "look for it" or "pixel peep" you can see the difference. But my personal feelings are a 1080p film is far good enough to get engrossed in. Personally I'm more picky about the sound as I'll take 480p 5.1 over 1080p 2.0.

Also we've been spoiled a bit with tech, I'm a bit of an enthusiast and usually use gear on the higher end. I'm shocked at times how good an nvidia shield can make content (even 480p) look on my 4k display with it's upconverting.

It's like the quote about audiophiles using your music to listen to their equipment where musicians use their equipment to listen to music.

There's definitely a difference between 1080p and 4k- and you need a good 4k tv set. I'm not metaphorically buying that 90% of 4k sets people buy are actually even ok TV's. or the 4k TV's that most companies make are even ok TV's.I had a tlc 4k and that was a piece of crap.

You need like mini led, oled, qdoled etc. but that's really where the picture pops.

Now does 4k matter for all content? No not really imo. I don't need 4k for any sitcoms, reality tv, game shows.

But it is undoubtedly better
