Features:
  • An Aqara Zigbee 3.0 Hub is required (except Camera Hub G2H) and sold separately. When using an Aqara Zigbee 3.0 hub (except the Camera Hub G2H pro), the Presence Sensor FP1E features Matter-over-bridge support and is also compatible with major third-party platforms, like Homekit, Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings, Home Assistant and Homey
  • Based on mmWave technology, the Presence Sensor FP1E achieves more precise detection compared to most PIR motion sensors. It can detect subtle movements of stationary individuals, preventing false reports in cases of inactivity. Additionally, it reduces response delay, ensuring faster and more immersive automation triggers. It enables a 120° field of view (can reach 180° in close range), up to 6m, covering an area of 35 ㎡, enough to monitor a room in your home
  • An Aqara Zigbee 3.0 Hub is required (not included). Its intuitive APP interface makes it easy to use without having to worry about adjusting sensitivity or dealing with sources of interference in your space

Just got this two weeks ago for $35 and thinking of grabbing another since its so cheap. I dont have an aqara hub, but this integrates with HA Z2M nicely.
Got two of these and paired them via zigbee with my smartthings v2 hub and a third party edge driver "zigbee motion sensor mc" from the Mariano drivers channel about a month or two ago. The pairing process was annoying and took multiple attempts before it worked correctly (had to have the device nearly right next to the hub) but once paired it has been good.

They solved my problem of needing to turn off the TV when the wife and kids leave it on and just leave the room. Traditional motion sensors would turn off devices when someone is motionless in the room but this thing still detects small motion from breathing so it only turns off devices when there is truly no one present.

I picked up two more in this deal (had to place two separate orders and the $10 coupon applied each time, but when ordering 2 at a time it would only apply one $10 coupon).

Will these work with a Hue hub? I'm confused about the whole hub ecosystem. If I have to have Aqara will any Aqara hub work? And if so I should just get the newest / most expensive one right? I have one of their no hub cameras hooked into HomeKit and have been happy with it, so I'd be comfortable expanding my Aqara hardware

From my understanding, hubs create a mini network to communicate more efficiently, as opposed to putting everything on one network, like a potentially congested 2.4 Ghz. Wi-Fi network. But to answer your question, I don't think newest/priciest is always better. I would just figure out what hub you need and go from there.

The product listing says, "This device requires an Aqara Zigbee 3.0 hub for operation, and other third-party hubs are NOT compatible. Please refer to the complete list of compatible Aqara Zigbee 3.0 hubs: Agara Hub MIS, Hub M1S Gen 2, Hub E1, Hub M2, Hub M3, Camera Hub G3, Camera Hub G2H Pro. Except for Camera Hub G2H Pro, all hubs mentioned above support Matter over Bridge."

This should work with most Zigbee hubs/sticks; it does NOT need to be an Aqara branded hub. I have two of these (and plenty of other Aqara Zigbee devices) on a Conbee II. It's totally fine.
Not sure about the Hue Hub. It is Zigbee but they sometimes have proprietary stuff on top of Zigbee.

Curious 🧐 in how these will work as alarm/motion sensors with SmartThings. If they are too sensitive they might not be the best option.

The FP2 has more sensors such as lux. It can also do multiple zones. The standard is different as well, wifi vs zigbee.

mm wave sensors are just that, they detect movement in the millimeter range. They're super sensitive and I wouldn't use it as an alarm trigger personally.

Wow, I just put two Fp2 sensors up in my house and love them, but wondered if these fp1e would be better for smaller rooms that don't need zones. Amazing timing. Lol.

I don't have an aqara hub and the fp2 were wifi so it wasn't an issue, but with these I've seen people have luck on most of not all zigbee hubs. I have smartthings currently so I'll see if it works that way.

so FP2 can integrate with standard wifi & not needing zigbee hub? If so, is that usually better?

I haven't had much success with aqara. I think I've had 3/3 temp sensors die within 90 days.
This is a case of "you get what you pay for"
