One of, if not THE, best games of all time.

I'd recommend and pay for it at full launch price. This game is insanely detailed, story off the chain, decisions matter, multiple endings, and ridiculous graphics. Even though its 10 years old, it doesn't look it and shames most NEW games. FREE DLCs are included and add so much to an already enormous game.

I put over 200 hours in my first play-through. I can't remember anything bad about it either... Except maybe fall damage. 🤣

That's like the dumbest complaint I have ever heard about Witcher 3

You can jump right in, no need to play the earlier games. If you enjoy this, you could check out Witcher 2 Assassin of Kings as it still holds up well and is an amazing game on its own. The first game is a bit rough and dated these days.

Regarding the "excellent game" versus "too many cutscenes" debate above:

- Remember Cyberpunk 2077? Same Polish devs here. If you hated/liked Cyberpunk, you'll probably feel similarly about The Witcher 3 despite the differences in high-fantasy versus sci-if, or 3rd-person camera versus first-person etc.

- Witcher 3 is first and foremost an rpg, and one of the best ever made. Combat is also good for an rpg with several options for building your character to tackle enemies, BUT don't be confused into thinking this is an action game like Ninja Gaiden etc. The cutscenes adopt the usual "Mass Effect/Bioware/etc" dialogue choices.

- Again, this is not Dark Souls, Zelda, or even Assassin's Creed (although you could set Witcher 3 to its hardest difficulty and it is probably more difficult than the latter two). It ain't Apex, CoD, or Doom either, so if you don't like rpgs, this probably isn't for you.

- if you're playing on a pc newer than 2020-ish, consider downloading the HD Reworked texture pack from Nexus Mods, and enabling the various ray tracing options. Game looks damn good evening in 2025. After that, there are so many other cool mods your choices are endless. I like the one that adds more realistic blood spray when Geralt's sword is slicing and dicing enemies.

It's the best game of all time that is also warned to be almost all cutscenes?

Sounds like the best game that you never really get to play unless you're around 200 hours in!

No need to play 1 and 2 and theyre nowhere near being a masterpiece like 3 is. There is enough exposition at the beginning to get you up to speed

I'm on my 5th PC playthrough since 2015. Yes, this is arguably the greatest game ever made. Yes, it has lots of beautiful cutscenes, and an insanely immersive story. No, it's not "mostly" cutscenes. Easily worth it. I've bought it on PC, switch, and PS4, but PC is the best experience.

I keep trying to get into this bought on pc bought on ps5 and I can never get past the beginning what would you recommend I do? Sometimes it takes getting past the learning curve for me to get sucked in. Reason why I can't get into elden as well. Should I just watch more beginners guides? I just feel like it's overwhelming.

Agree one of the best games ever made with min 100+ hours of gameplay and strong replay value. $10 is insane value.

Don't need to have played 1 or 2 to get into it, but might be worth watching a 15 min recap on YT to get the highlights.

If you're not buying this game because of cutscenes, I don't know what to tell you

Spend a bit of time learning to dodge - think it'll solve a good amount of the issue. Also learn signs
