This CPU is quite-literally the only Ultra series chip that's worth considering in their entire lineup. Reason being it's a 20-core chip and has been as low as $289.99 individually. Even at it's full-MSRP it's the best multi-core performance chip in its' price range by a decent margin -it even beats out the more expensive Ryzen 9 9900X on multi-core. It also has substantially more capable integrated graphics than what's on AMD's CPU's right now, and also has access to QuickSync which is unmatched by AMD or Nvidia for that matter for video encode and decode.

"CPUBENCHMARK"

Might as well link to some sketchy bitcoin webaite.... It would be just as trustworthy as CPUbenchmark

It's Passmark, literally one of the only reputable standalone CPU and GPU benchmark websites around... They've been around since the 90's. What rock do you live under?

Passmark is one of the original benchmark companies/utilities before everyone adopted 3DMark for youtube benchmark results. They've probably been around longer than you've been alive.

Google's AI results from googling "PassMark":

"PassMark Software was founded in 1998. PassMark is a company that develops PC benchmark and diagnostic tools.

Explanation:

PassMark's PerformanceTest is a PC benchmarking software that has been an industry standard since 1998.

PassMark's products are used by many users worldwide, including government organizations and major IT companies.

PassMark's PerformanceTest allows users to compare their PC's performance to other computers, and to measure the impact of hardware upgrades.

The standard version of PassMark's PerformanceTest is free, while the advanced tests require a paid license.

PassMark's PerformanceTest runs mathematical calculations to stress the CPU's performance."

Try looking something up before making ignorant and blatantly incorrect claims based on feelings.

I'm guessing they're thinking of userbenchmark.com (which has a cpu. in front of it when comparing procs) which is actually trash and has a history of promoting Intel and disparaging AMD even when AMD is a clear better choice. CPUBenchmark is good cpu.userbenchmark is useless, easy to get confused for anyone that doesn't stay on top of this stuff like some of us nerds lol

I could maybe see that, but even if he were commenting on what he thought was a userbenchmark link his words wouldn't have been helpful or informative. Also a single click and it's fairly-obvious the site is substantially different...

While I generally agree with you, I personally wouldn't click on a userbenchmark link if I ever saw one because any and all traffic on a website is good traffic for them and I have no desire to perpetuate userbenchmarks SEO abusing stranglehold on benchmarking search results.

So yes, looking at the page would differentiate it from userbenchmark, but if the guy got confused and thought it was userbenchmark, I can't blame them for not wanting to click on the link and just typing up a comment trying to "educate" other people on the site being trash. Maybe I'm giving them too much credit or maybe you're not giving them enough, who knows lol

Its neat to see userbenchmarks in the comment section. Passmark is a joke and a bad bench. Its a synthetic benchmark that doesn't translate to real world performance, we have both better benchmarking tools now days as well as reliable people showing performance in the productivity and gaming scenarios people care about, how old it is means nothing.

Here is a page containing trustworthy real world benchmarks people will actually care about :
https://gamersnexus.net/cpus/inte...7900x-more

That being said the CPU is just fine for average user and gamer, if it goes cheap enough and makes sense for you, snag it. Just know this is probably the only cpu launch this mobo socket will get.
