I also perplexity about the coverage of a refurbished TV
does this policy cover a refurbished television
This Protection Plan does cover refurbished televisions, with some limitations:
## Coverage for Refurbished Products
The Protection Plan generally provides coverage for refurbished products, including televisions, as long as they are manufacturer certified refurbished items[1]. However, there are a few important points to note:
1. The Protection Plan does not cover any pre-existing conditions that occurred prior to the Coverage Start Date.
2. Coverage is limited to mechanical and electrical failures during normal usage of the product.
3. The Protection Plan excludes:
- Products sold "as-is" or demonstration/in-store models
- Any product that is fraudulently described or materially misrepresented
## Key Coverage Details
For a refurbished television, the Protection Plan would typically cover:
- Defects in materials and/or workmanship
- Operational failures resulting from power surges (when properly connected to a surge protector)
- Defective pixels (subject to the manufacturer's policy or specific thresholds)
However, it's important to note that the Protection Plan does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear
- Cosmetic damage that doesn't affect functionality
- Damage from improper installation or misuse
To ensure full coverage, make sure the refurbished television is manufacturer certified and not sold as-is or as a demonstration model.
I've purchased 4 refurbished sony tv's through them and all have been great so far. the oldest being the a80J and is still going strong. They used to offer a warranty though CPS but can't seem to find it on secondipitys website anymore. However, i believe if you call CPS they would confirm they offer plans for refurbished items. I know this because i bought them for all of my tvs
