Good price, but be aware that there are many models of these sets.

The one to look out for is if the set is Essential or Premium.

Essential has Stamped blades, while the Premium versions have Forged blades (so much better). These are great knives, got the 13 piece premium set off eBay for around $160 😎

Does this sharpen all the knives in the set? What about the shears?

It does not sharpen the shears. The set I have includes the bread knife which is serrated and also not able to be sharpened. Having said that, the shears and bread knife are holding up very well.

Ninja makes really good products, it seems. This one feels a bit too gimmicky.

I can't decide if this is gimmick or good.

I have an old Chicago Cutlery set with a built in manual sharpener I run each knife through one pass before putting them back and it does *not* maintain a sharp edge. I have to sharpen them myself just like anything else.

I'm interest in this knife set although the price stayed at $119 since a year ago, according to pricetracker.wtf

I have had this set for a year and really like it. 10 passes in the sharpener every couple weeks and they are good as new.

I bought the premium version with the dark walnut knife block. These are really nice knives. They do not sharpen themselves, but the built in sharpener is easy to use and works well. Had then a year now and would buy then again.

Can I sharpen other knives in the side block? Like from other sets? 🤔

I have the premium version and have been very happy with it. The sharpener does actually work and freshens them up a bit.

Be mindful that this set is huge. Beautiful set, but I didn't think of how big it would be on my counter. I returned it even though I got it for $80.

We have a 13 piece set that I got a few years ago. Still going strong. The sharpener does work. And we're bad knife owners. These frequently end up in the dishwasher 😬

My chicago cutlery is experiencing the same situation, i went to buy one of those swanky sharpeners i've seen advertised until i saw the price...a new knife block may be cheaper than sharpening my current.
