I had to add and remove my order a couple of times before the extra $50 discount finally applied to my .edu account, bringing the total below $900. Once that happened, I went ahead and placed the order.
Hopefully, I can trade it in next year for an S26 Ultra for $1000! đź¤
P.S. Not sure if this was related, but I noticed that whenever I had the clear magnetic case in my cart, the extra $50 discount didn't show up. When the case went out of stock and I could no longer add it, I switched to other accessories—and suddenly, the discount appeared. Coincidence? Maybe, but worth noting!
