#1 - VASTLY weaker CPU and internal GPU
#2 - 3i RAM is soldered so not upgradeable. 8GB is not what it used to be with newer versions of WIndows. Being able to upgrade to 16gb or 32gb is very useful.
#3 - 3i only has a 256 GB SSD.....That can go away really fast.
#4 - 15.6 vs 17.3

Really hard to compare these two devices at all.

If you really want a basic 17 inch unit this is probably the one. The HP hinges gripe probably doesn't apply when the machine generally never leaves the desk.

OP when you say there's an extra (I'm guessing empty) m2 slot for an additional m2 drive are you going off the questions and answers section for it? I checked the same Q and A and found this quote

"A:Answer Ignore the HP and Best Buy reps. I bought three of these exact models and upgraded the RAM and drives. I can confirm you absolutely can upgrade the RAM and NVME drive. It has two DDR4 slots and you can pop in another 8GB or put two 16GB dimms. In addition to the NVME, it also has a spot for a 2.5" drive and the mother has the interface. You just need to order an HP SSD ribbon cable and drive caddy (or double sided tape it). Nothing is soldered in.

Yes I'm referring to the QA section. I don't think there is a vacant M2 slot but an empty 2.5 SSD drive bay.

N305 is s very weak cpu... Possibly 50% of performance of this.

It's a rubbish. Lenovo has a very cheap and weak CPU.
