The sugar data appears to be completely inaccurate, especially when compared to the amount of carbs. This has been the case for years, despite notifying the company. Number 3 ingredient is oil, reflected in 11g of fat, but Number 2 ingredient is date powder, yet only 7g of sugar, when by weight it should be at least 8g, and that is not including the other ingredients with sugar. And when you compare it to any other granola, it seems way off. And this still tastes sweet, so presumably it has the same amount of sugar as other granolas. As to its sugar content, this product is either a miracle or a scam. It's not a big deal for me, but for anyone actually interested in this product for its "low sugar" or "date is fruit, not sugar", be warned. I've never seen anything like this.

Tastes great, but beware both the use of hidden sugar with the 66% sugar by weight date powder, along with likely undercounted total sugar grams.

Could you expound? How is Sugar by weight computed here? Is it total carbs/total weight?

FYI: I have a box of the cinnamon crunch in my pantry. It's good when eaten dry, but quickly becomes soggy when milk is added. Also, it's very sweet.

I did the math. Since there are two oils, the numbers can add up. 3 and 3g on the oils, 3 and 1g on the date powder/blueberries for sugar. I agree that "no sugar added" is misleading though, since date powder is presumably basically sugar. I don't even want the product anyway.

There is certainly a difference health wise between cane sugar and date powder. Cane sugar has a roughly 50% higher GI than date powder. Not to mention dates do actually contain nutrients as well, which cane sugar has none.

I like this cereal, but realize it's a small bag. Last about two bowls

FYI...

For those who buy this when it's on sale at Kroger, they have a $1 off of 2 coupon...and my Kroger has it for $3.50 a box...basically the same price, with some more choices. YMMV on Kroger coupons/pricing.

Good catch on the oil figures. I do feel better now, but I'm still suspicious. LOL.
