The news is very vague and I honestly don't want to risk buying something and having it not work/being held hostage in 5 years time due to the paywall.
Please release additional information or deny these claims (unlikely lol)
Battery storage for solar is already not 'worth it' due to cost, with this additional restriction, might as well just get full solar on the home and do everything yourself.

That said, if the unit's basic info can be seen via the app and the UPS functionality is untouched, they'd still work fine for my use cases.

I'll go with a different brand, or, if they all start doing it, i'll go an entirely different direction. i've lived 47 years without it, so I am not missing anything.

Well I was just about to pull the trigger on a delta 2 max with lots of plans to add to it in the future but a possible paywall put an end to that. I really liked the app and WiFi over the Bluetooth only on the Anker. Now that I think about it Bluetooth only is probably better. it's less likely I will have my usage data tracked or sold, terms of service magically changed etc. Anker seems a bit sleazy to me now.
