This is a concentrated chili STARTER meaning you mix it with meat, tomatoes, etc. you are effectively doubling or even tripling the volume of the can when the full meal is finished. This cuts the sodium per bite/serving way down compared to just eating the can (which I am unsure why someone is doing this to begin with)

They are about the same price as a can of beans. The ingredients are pretty good and it's quick. The seasoning is soaked into the beans like it's been stewing all day.

No it's not. One can is 3.5 servings. So one serving would be. 12.5% of your daily sodium.
They're right. You can check the label. One serving is 1010mg which is 44% of your daily value. The entire can is 3535mg.

That's half your days sodium in one serving.

Thanks for the heads up, but gotta pass on that.

So you just add tomatoes and meat? No need for chili powder with these?

You are correct but I did read the label wrong. I just made this from the last deal and I didn't find it too salty once added to meat and tomatoes.

Out of curiosity, why this over just some normal beans and some spices? You already need to add onion, meat, tomatoes and peppers to your chili.
