8GB, 6.8" screen, Bluetooth for Audible for $70. $10 coupon for new customers, FIRETENOFF. $60 for this is nice as long as you get a good battery. I don't know what these usually go for on the secondary market.
If you don't want a refurbished Kindle, you can trade in a working Amazon device (Tap, echo dot, kindle fire, etc) for a $20 credit towards a new Kindle (non-paperwhite) purchase from Amazon and get the newer model (6" screen, 16GB) for $90. Smaller screen than this deal, which may or may not be a deal breaker for you.

Which model of Paperwhite are you talking about that you can get the "newer" version of with a 6" screen for $90 after trade? The new version is 7", and is not $90 after trade-in. Hasn't been that low yet at all, I've been keeping an eye on it since its release. Wait, on a re-read, I think you meant a regular Kindle, it was a little confusing. Ah well, whatever, lol.

Yeah the regular Kindle not the paper white. I'll edit my post for clarity.
Can't tell if that is a really good price on the 8gb or not... some of their past deals have been slightly older models but even better prices.
Last year I ordered a 2018 paperwhite 8gb for $40. Sub $50 was my threshold to give it a whirl. But then the box they sent me had 2 stickers. One said 2018 paperwhite 8gb and the other said Oasis ... I got an Oasis from them. Besides a small scratch on the screen and a tiny dent on the corner it has been great. Big upgrade of model for the same price but obviously not the norm.
But trying to figure out if this is worth it for almost double to get my wife one. She loves to read but also worry that she would just prefer real books.

Like, WTF does it matter to them?
You don't have to answer with your theories, just FYI.
