Makes sense. Why? A bunch of low lifes would use the gens until the power was back on and then try to return them. I just checked Costco's policy and theirs does not exclude generators specifically nor does it mention anything with an engine/gas (some stores have blanket policies that anything that takes gasoline is non returnable if gas has been put in it).

Runs at 28.3amps continuous on natural gas. Maybe it's not what you think it is.

6,800 running watts at 240v on natural gas.

6,800/240=28.333333watts

May keep a natural gas furnace and some lighting available during the winter but won't run a single AC during the summer much less 3 ACs

I'd suggest getting more quotes. I had quotes for this exact same setup ranging from $10,500 to $20,600. Gotta find the right company and I promise that it's not the national nor tristate retaliers.

Standby gens seem to routinely go on sale at Costco for on the order of $5k give or take (order of magnitude). The install cost really depends on how accessible NG and your panel are to one another. There are also things you may be able to do as the homeowner to bring the cost down. For example, pouring a concrete pad for the generator, or doing some other grunt work in routing wires and piping. For this you'd probably have to really shop around for the smaller electricians/plumbers as the large outfits typically don't want to hassle with small jobs.

Can't recommend tri-fuel enough. Infinite runtime in the event of a power outage with a Nat Gas hookup!

Don't really need the concrete pad. Generac offers a composite pad for $550 that gets it of the ground. Seriously, if you're interested contact your local contractors. Mine had 20kw, 22kw, 24,kw and 26kwn in stock. Was quoted in less than a week. Asked BEST PRICE and he came down. Installed a 26kw less than a week after quote for 26kw and slaughtered the national and tri-state retailers. Plus his shop is 0.7 miles from my 3,400 sqft home.

Pays to shop locally sometimes.

Been waiting for this to go on sale again. 1 year warranty is concerning but after chatting with a rep on the Sam's club website they said it can be returned at any time if there are issues (as long as I remain a member of course).

Comment about the no return policy above would seem to indicate otherwise.

Not familiar with Sam's club (currently Costco member). Would appreciate any feedback.

I have a dual fuel version that works sometimes and then doesn't not sure wat the issue is but I kinda gave up on it . I also have the tri fuel version which runs like a champ . Dont expect Honda quality because they are half the price

In case anyone is curious, you have to be a member to order even if you want to pay for shipping (I didn't know this). Otherwise the cost is $3,053.06.

I moved from a home with a generac. I thought I'd be able to get by with a portable but after one outage I contracted to have a generac installed. Totally worth it imho. I guess I was spoiled.

I have the Costco tri fuel non inverter Firman generator which outputs slightly less on ng than this. I am able to run a 1 ton AC on it without a soft switch. I have read people running 3 ton AC on it with a soft switch.

Keep in mind none of those permanent ones are inverters.

I've seen the plus membership available for $60 for the first year. Seems reasonable and includes free shipping.
