my store was oos, but best buy price matched over chat

I was just able to price match with bestbuy for $1083 by providing the two links. When I tried this morning the chat rep wouldn't do it but the chat rep I just messaged was able to do it.

Just got the deal at Best Buy on the 2nd try for $1083 + $45 for Best Buy Plus - which I'll cancel. Had to give the sales agent a chance for commission! …

First try via chat on the desktop browser while logged in. Second try was via the Best Buy app. Both times, I asked for price match for MacBook Pro using the Apple model number and mentioned Costco. Second time, I also noted the Best Buy SKU.

First time around, the agent asked me for the Costco URL, which she obviously then saw as OOS. Second time around, the agent shared with ME the Costco link and said "You mean this item?". Definitely some of these agents have been busy fulfilling these orders.

As someone mentioned earlier, if they ask your name, email, phone number right away, you're probably in. It isn't an exact price match, will be 1083 before tax

They asked me for local zip code to check Costco stock but then proceeded anyway...probably depends on agent you get from Best Buy

3 out of 4 times that i have reached chat. i have been asked for my name,email, phone # right away and I haven't had luck with them.

I got an agent to price match for $1083 on my fourth attempt, received an invoice, and placed the order at 3:15 p.m. It was supposed to be ready for pickup within an hour, but over two hours had passed, and the status was still stuck on "preparing for pickup today." So I went to the store and was told by the manager that they couldn't do anything until the order was approved. He said the payment most likely hadn't been processed by my bank. I called BoA and was told everything looked good on their end and that Best Buy should have accepted the payment by now. I returned home empty-handed, and the order is still stuck on "preparing for pickup today." I've never had this issue at Best Buy or any other merchant. The only other time I experienced a delay at Best Buy was when I ordered an Apple gift card. What could be the reason?

It's still the same $999.97 Costco link. I was told the system would not allow them to go any lower than $1083.

I received the following after being price matched by the agent.. Anyone faced the same and would store agree to price match when I go for pickup on Feb 5th. I had ordered for store pickup.

This is regarding your price match request. We know getting the best price is a priority. You may go directly to your nearest Best Buy store since we are unable to process price match for in store purchases
