my store was oos, but best buy price matched over chat

Customer Care agent: XXXX, today is your lucky day, I hope it puts a smile on your face! This product can be price matched with Costco website for $999.97. I can place this order at the lower price for you and send a secure payment link to complete the payment, and we accept major credit and debit cards in case you want to use Apple Pay or PayPal I would kindly ask you to place an order and provide me the order details so I can refund the difference back into your payment method. May I ask which option would you prefer?

which costco zipcode link did u give
Here's how I did it:

1. Connect in multiple browsers/incognito
2. Paste the message
3. They may ask for a zip/phone/email or no info at all and if they say it doesn't qualify, dont waste time, disconnect and try again.

Here's a message template I used in each chat.

I'm interested in purchasing SKU: 6534615 and price matching to Costco.

https://www.costco.com/macbook-pr...25276.html

Im aware the system only allows you to price match to $1,090, I'm ok with that.

I hope this is helpful.

Took 20+ live chats but finally got someone to price match! Really needed this for school.

Anyone have any recommendations for sleeves?

They just said they were going to match me fully, did a match up to $1100 (invoiced and paid), and then said post-purchase team would reimburse me the final $100.03, got ping ponged to multiple cs reps and then the final guy canceled the whole order. Amateur hour
Got greedy... Get the product first. Try again

Yeah as I said earlier, she saw the costco price, told me she could only go down to $1100 and then assured me the post-purchase team could give me the extra $103... it would be weird for me to tell her "no thanks, I'll just pay a little more". There was no pushing on my side. So far the order is still there though so fingers crossed

Anyone who bought it from Costco for $1250, was able to return and rebuy?
I tried but the a-hole manager made up a fake rule about needing to have one in stock to be able to do that

Unless they have some in stock in that particular store, they don't price match. They always check that even for small things. They don't match store specific prices too. Sometimes if they see some in stock, they say it's display. U have to return it completely and hope that they sell it again at some point for reduced price. These days they increase the price again after clearing out.

These MacBook prices are going down. No need to upgrade from mine yet but I'm confident we will see better deals in coming days. Good hunting fellow slick dealers

Same bs response. Also asked if I can return and repurchase since mine was still unopened. They said it would need to be audited first before it goes back on shelf and then changed story that it would be marked unsaleable and go back to vendor.

Same. Tried two different Costco's. Both said same exact thing - that item needs to be in stock for us to be able to price match. I then asked to return and rebuy. They stated that once the item is returned, it's marked as unsellable so you can't buy it back. Smh...

I'm not sure the method you use matters, it's just a matter of luck that you get an agent that will do the price match or close to it. When the deal was $1250 I got lucky on the first try, now after multiple times both with chat and phone call, and using the method that has worked for some I keep getting shot down. I thought maybe I got lucky last night when a chat agent actually asked me if I wanted to price match it (I didn't even bring price matching up) but as soon as they see that it's not in stock they say they can't do the price match.

I believe most cards have the same policy for extended warranty, you don't have to charge the whole thing, but they will only cover up to what you charged. So in my case, I decided to charge $600-700, enough to cover most likely repairs, and the rest on IC GCs for the 20% discount on that portion.
Thanks for the clarification.

Tried the multiple chats attempts for price matching on Best Buy and it worked. Make sure you pick it up in person so they don't cancel your order. Worked for me and my friend.
