If the account is closed within 6 months from the account opening date, the bonus may be forfeited or deducted at closing.

Sounds great!
They collected all my information. SSN, employer, DL, Etc. They sent me a 6-digit security code to my phone, which I correct entered into their website. After entering the correct 2FA code, it asked for it *again*, and an email came through rejecting my checking account application without explanation. Bizarre. Never turned away from an account in my life. Oh well. There goes my personal information into another database.
Chinese Lunar New Year.

In China...

Number 3 is associated with living
Number 8 is associated wealth

A grouping of 3 items is considered extremely lucky.

So, 388 means live wealthy x2 with luck.

Worked for a medsurg company that had a Chinese director of r&d. Our 888 camera was an incredible seller. He named it that, so found out what all the numbers meant in China.

I mean you should be keeping your accounts open for about 6 months if you're in the churning game.

What counts as a direct deposit? What about simple ACH Transfers from other banks?

Deposit Requirement: Qualifying direct deposits are electronic deposits of your income on a regular basis, such as salary, pension, or Social Security benefits which are made by an employer or other payer. Non-qualifying deposits include person-to-person payments such as Zelle or Venmo, teller deposits, debit card transfers, ATM deposits or transfers, Online and/or Mobile Banking transfers, wire transfers, or transfers from a bank or brokerage account.

Datapoints usually come later on what ACH transfers end up qualifying.

Yea...for the same reason, I gave up on the AmEx Rewards Checking promo. Couldn't get ACH transfers to work, including transfers from Robinhood and Venmo.

This happened to me so I called them to figure out why. Turned out the occupation I chose from the list was the culprit. I just chose Unemployed then everything went fine. Also that 2FA code goes to your email. Nothing came to my phone. I had the almost same experience as you, but I just never gave up.

So in order to process the application correctly you have to select "unemployed" even though the applicant is employed?

Interesting. I chose attorney, because that's my job. I guess I'll call them tomorrow. The 2FA code definitely came to my phone via sms. I'm looking at it.

This offer is better than the Capital One 360 checking deal, which rewards you $300.

Within 5 miles of a branch. No 2FA authorization by email or phone, but did ask me for personal information (height on DL, in what city did X live?, what color was X, etc....
Got a message saying application is under review and will be contacted in 3 days

EDIT: Rejection email was sitting in my Inbox as I typed my post. Chex sensitive?
