I have this lock, it's a decent lock for the price. i have to change the batteries out every 6 months or so which is not big deal. It sends a notification when the batteries are low so you have ample time to change them out before it completely dies. It works off wifi and I can unlock and lock my door from anywhere. If the wifi is out or the power is, the lock will still work cause it's battery powered but you can't lock and unlock it remotely without access to WiFi.

My favorite feature that this lock has, it will send a notification to your phone whenever the door is locked and unlocked. It also lets you set up special passwords per person which I think is a neat feature too.

Overall, it's not the best lock on the market of course, but it gets the job done for a good price.

I have a variation of this lock from Eufy. My batteries lasted 2 years before needing to be replaced. I used to have it set to autolock when I left the house but I got tired of locking myself out everytime I went to get the mail. Now if I ever wonder if my door is locked I can just look no matter where I am in the world.

I've had packages delivered while out of town before and have asked friends to stop by the house and toss it in my door. I can unlock it for them while they're there and lock it when they leave. Or I can just give them a time restricted pass code.

These are really great devices, and Anker has been pretty reliable as a brand so far. Haven't been disappointed with anything I have by them.

ed. Also my came with like six physical keys, so even if the batteries are dead you can get in, and you have enough spares to hand out to your parents, your brother, your dog walker, and your dentist.

I wouldn't trust Eufy to the locks to my home.

https://www.cnet.com/home/securit...een-fixed/

"An apparent software glitch that exposed private information and video streams belonging to hundreds of Eufy security camera customers has been resolved, according to the company.

The security breach was first made public on Monday when affected customers began reporting an unusual phenomenon on Reddit: The Eufy app apparently granted them access to other users' account information, including both live and recorded video streams. Not only that, some users reported the app let them control other users' physical cameras with actions like pan and zoom.

Eufy said Wednesday that a total of 712 users' accounts were exposed to other Eufy app users before the problem could be addressed."

The rest of my house is Ring Security and Yale Assure Locks on Z-wave, any harm in having just this one for my rarely used mudroom door? I'm assuming this doesn't have Z-wave but figured I could just have it connect to my Alexa?

Have 2 of these. We like them as we can be notified if the doors get unlocked by the kids. Or if we lock ourselves out and could use the code which doesn't help cause the screen door is locked and the garage door won't open if there's a power outage but whatever.

Yeah it's not the breach that got me but the 'couldn't care less' attitude from Eufy after the fact that stopped me from using them. They don't seem like a company that gives a rats ass about security or their customers concerns.

How have these performed in weather/rain? I have an external gate, not covered under porch, will it survive in those elements?

Note: Or even fingerprint model feedback would be much appreciated.

Can't speak to the rain element, but the fingerprint version works great!

Wish there was a version that could lock both the knob and deadbolt.

i bought one of these before; and it bricked. couldn't unlock it at all, deadbolt stuck. i bought a second one and switched different parts to see what mechanism is the issue and confirmed it was a firmware update that bricked it. customer support did not resolve, a few days out of warranty. not bad to use as a second entry, but if you only have 1 entrance, i would not trust this.

What is the difference between this and the C30 which is $10 less on amazon? Looks like they have pretty much the same features

I just use the non-WiFi deadbolt with a keypad for keyless entry. My neighbor had a Yale WiFi deadbolt and that thing locked them out and would not unlockā€¦cost them like $200 for a lock smith.
