It's ironic that they named it a 'smart' lock, when the only thing 'smart' about it is the ability to rekey the physical lock, you know, for when you're using a key instead of the keypad. No smarthome integration, WiFi, ZWave, Matter or anything of the sort.

Okay where are the folks quoting the Lock-Picking-Lawyer, and then recomending a $300 set.

I have 2 of these. They work well. Can be kind of a pain to initially setup but once up and running works well.

While they have a $7 lock probably furnished by their landlord.

BTW, no matter how good your lock is windows can be unlocked by anyone with a rock LMAO2

Jokes aside I actually had this deadbolt for the last 6 months and have been quite impressed. The latch was slightly too big to fit in the door but I ended up just reusing that piece from my prior lock as opposed to boring out the hole slightly. Most latches come with a few sleeves to adapt to the specific opening but this sleeve was tack welded in place...if it wasn't welded on I could have simply slide off that spacer. Silly design.

Good deal. Need one for my "owner closet" in my rental unit but need it with a lever. Any recommendations for an ok one since need it for indoors?

Can one just use the key exclusively instead of the keypad?

No matter what lock you put in, approved or not approved by the LockPickingLawyer, ensure your occupants are protected inside by a latch that is independent of the locks - Here is a good one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DR9CMGZ.
If the home is not occupied, it really does not matter; contents can be replaced.

In my case when we are all at home, the entry door is not locked at all. Our 120lb Sheppard mastiff mix is on the guard all the time. He looks forward to chew on something new yummy Wink

Agreed. Someone asked why they call it "smart" in the Q&A section and the rep basically says that "using SmartKey makes it a Smart Lock". Marketing people…
