Cheap $20 dryer - 18 minutes to dry, very loud
Shark: 10 minutes to dry, high pitched whine that was unpleasant.
Babyliss: 10 minutes to dry, quiet and pleasant sound! Babyliss is what professional salons use, about 80 bucks. Should last you 30 years with home use. Highly recommend!
While the Shark looks fancy, a $19 Remington performed better in this test in almost every metric over the Shark. The Dyson was the best performing hair dryer overall but obviously at a big cost. It doesn't look like any 'mid-range' ($90-200) hair dryers perform any better than the cheap ones.

While the Shark looks fancy, a $19 Remington performed better in this test in almost every metric over the Shark. The Dyson was the best performing hair dryer overall but obviously at a big cost. It doesn't look like any 'mid-range' ($90-200) hair dryers perform any better than the cheap ones.

Cheap one took 20 minutes. Babyliss took 10 minutes and is much quieter/more pleasant sounding.
Buy a Babyliss. It's what most salons use.
