look at trimmer on website shows free grass shear. I had to goto 2 stores first tried to say it was online promo and would not give me free grass shear because it didi not ring up free. 2nd store did not ring up as free but they were hAppy to adjust. ymmv receipt attached
I tried to get the free additional free tool today and they said that was an "online exclusive", even though the 149 trimmer is an IN STORE exlcusive so i'll have to try a second store tomorrow.

I just looked at that and the free one has a different SKU than the in store one. It might be why it don't work.
Picked this up last week when the deal first got posted at 189 and it was already at 149 at my local store. I'm confused by the image carousel on the site though, the 2nd pic shows a free grass shear (XMU04Z) with purchase.
Not sure if that's an outdated offer and pic is no longer relevant to the listing, or if it's a Makita rebate that may have expired? I checked Makita rebates website and did not find anything about those items.
If somehow the grass shear IS included, that makes an already great deal even sweeter
edit: I'm dumb and missed all of the previous comments about the shear. I was just too eager to ask since I'd been wondering for a week if I missed out when I got this. Might need to take a trip back to the store...

I'm wondering if we can place the order in store and get the clearance price and the shear for free shipped since it's not available in store??
I went into one of my local HDs for something else, and I took a lot to see if they had any of these in stock, which was around 10, and what the prices were, which was $149. The website had the old price and did not list them as on clearance. One of the guys in the store said they had been at $149 for a few days.
The point is, you might want to stop in a store if you are going by. They might be on clearance, but the website does not show it.

The point is, you might want to stop in a store if you are going by. They might be on clearance, but the website does not show it.
