Basically, this is a Costco-exclusive upgrade of the Q681, which is why it's hard to find reviews of this exact model. The main differences are the upgraded Onkyo 2.1 speakers, the FireTV OS and a 3 year warrantee. It's a huge upgrade from the q651, with the local dimming and brighter picture.

A lot of people here bought these a few months ago when they were clearancing them out of the stores for $400. Most people seemed very happy with them. I got one, and the picture is really great. Very bright and the colors really pop. I mean, it's not as great as some of the $1000-2000 models, but it's $500. (Though it was originally $1300.) I'm very happy with my purchase.

I don't think you'll find a better TV in this price range at this time, unless you find some truly spectacular clearance deal. Probably the next level up you'll find at 75" is the Hisense U7N for $900 (also at Costco.)

I don't imagine that these will last too long, since they're not selling these in the stores any more. This is probably a clearance price.

Note: for anyone trying to put this on a smaller table/stand, the legs can attach in either direction (which isn't mentioned anywhere in the documentation!) When they're facing inwards, it can fit on some smaller stands.

To set your TCL TV to start up on the last input you used, navigate to Settings > System > Power (or Power and Energy on some models) and select "Last Used Input" as your power on behavior; this will automatically turn on your TV to the last input source you were using when you turned it off.
Key points to remember:
Access settings: Press the "Home" button on your remote, then navigate to "Settings".
Find Power settings: Within the settings menu, go to "System" and then select "Power" (or "Power and Energy").
Choose "Last Used Input": Under "Power On Behavior" or a similar option, select "Last Used Input".

This is going to be a better TV vs the 5 series. This set is QLED, has upgraded sound and local dimming. it's in the Q6 series, but this is at the upper end (where it includes the sound and dimming). If this had 120hz refresh rate, it would basically be the Q7.

The one at Sam's club has a model number 75Q691G and has similar specs minus the Google OS.
Ok then it's a good deal especially if you prefer Google tv over fire tv.

I have the Costco one and it's worth the 500. The remote is a little slow but if you're not someone who spends all day changing channels then it won't bother you.

Btw. Does Sam's have free shipping? Someone told me they stopped that a while ago.

The difference between the Costco model and Sam's Club is that:

Costco model comes with FireTV - Q691(F)

Sam's Club model comes with GoogleTV - Q691(G)

All other specs look identical.

Ordered one. Thanks, OP and DavidHH.
I will hook it up with a desktop pc. Hope that will make the sluggish OS problem (as many reviewers complained) an irrelevant issue.
That's how I mainly use it. One annoying thing is that when you turn it on, it doesn't remember to go to HTML. INstead, it goes to the main TV menu.
So you'll have to click on the source button (upper left), wait for it to respond (which can be quite a few seconds), then click on the enter (center of the d-pad) to get the PC to show up on your TV. And you'll have to do it every time. So, not totally irrelevant.
Also, if you don't do anything for a (long) while (say if you go off to the kitchen or the bathroom or get a phone call), the home screen (screensaver?) sometimes randomly kicks in. And the only way I've found to get rid of it is to turn the tv off and on and repeat that whole process again.
Both of these things are mildly annoying, but the picture quality is so good that I'm ok with it.

Bought it last time it was on clearance.

Good picture quality for the price.
Good enough sound.
FireTV is slow, but tolerable.
3 year warranty is. Ice to have for the budget tier.

The tv is super bright. I would suggest if you're not in a really bright room to set the Brightness to something like 5( brightness effects the blavks. The lower the number the blacker you get)and contrast to around 50.

Don't be confused, parents of gamers.

60HZ refresh rate is different from 240Motion rate.

Parents you want 120hz or 144hz or 240hz refresh rate

They really put them next to each other.....

You're not going to get a 75 in TV with 120 or 240hz for under $500.
