Expansion. You'll have the stock drive and another 1TB (if you added 1TB expansion) and you can choose which it defaults to when installing ps4 and which it defaults to when installing ps5. You can also transfer at will etc.

No. If it comes with a heat sink attached this is not necessary. If you buy one without one, then it's wise to get this.

This is such a crap deal. This should be $5 at most. When you consider that there are often deals here for USB-C NVMe enclosures for $10 that include a heatsink.
