There is pasteurized, what you get at most markets from the fridge area, and Ultra-Pasteurized Milk that you can buy on the regular room temp shelf.

Ultra is heated to a higher temp and taste a little different. But when you add this much sugar I doubt most will notice. Smilie

No way it's gotta be more than that. The lactose free milk (which has the added lactase enzyme then ultra pasteurized) still has to be refrigerated even when still sealed..

It's UHT. Ultra high temperature pasteurized. This is very Google-able but I did briefly work at a Nestlé research facility a while ago where we specialized in ready to drink shelf stable dairy beverages like Nesquik. The product was flavored then goes through UHT then gets packaged in very specific antimicrobial packaging. Then it's shelf stable until it's opened and bacteria is reintroduced.
