I got the same message. Tried "proceed to checkout" and it did indeed show the discounted price there, so try that.

Would not work in app, but went on my computer and had it apply successfully in browser (Firefox). It's showing as an $8.50 promotional credit that you apply to the order. Maybe that's how Amazon does it now but flagging in case anyone gets confused.

So if I am seeing this corretly, these batteries would work in the older Xbox One controllers but they have uSB C ports for charging, rather than using the port in the controller to charge?

Correct and they charge much faster that the original ones via micro USB.
