I wouldn't get an LG laptop. They don't understand building laptops and it shows. Got one a while ago and it was frustrating experience. Rather get even acer before LG.
I read a headline at Verge that read "LG Gram Style review: a beautiful mess". I tried a Style and agree.
However, I'm typing this on an LG Gram 17" 17zb90r and can't praise it enough. I like it over my Lenovo Slim 9i due to weight. I like it better than my 14" Dell and Lenovo laptops because it has a similar weight, processor, and memory but a much bigger screen. I like the dedicated 10-key on my Gram 17 as well.
I get your Gram dislike, but it depends on which Gram. I've been using my second over the past 7 years and would buy another... if it isn't a Style model.
Now, getting a clearance item at Walmart... Good Luck. An employee probably has it hidden away for a future personal purchase.

I wish that I could purchase a laptop that would serve me for 7 years.

I like my LG Gram, but I hate that they don't bother to support updates for the bios.

I like my LG gram 17.

Graphics are not powerful.

Display is fragile, I used screen cleaner and it got behind the display.

But overall, I would buy another one.

The weight savings is #1, esp for traveling!

I have pretty much same laptop, except with touchscreen, 32GB, 1TB. It overheats, LG's design of the heat vents is bad, for some reason the build feels cheap, overall it's a garbage laptop.

The resolution is a mess, the anti-blue light mode too yellowish.

I would not buy anything Intel again though.

I bought a thinkpad yoga 15 for $900 back in 2015 December. I'm still using it - it was travelling all over the world with me and it was a bit late we wanted to upgrade the ram - the hinge inside broke. It's a i7 5th gen 8gb 258gb SSD. Everything works fine. I'm typing from my HP Pavillion 15 bought in Jan 2018 (found the deal here) and it still running strong - once again cost me $900 but this one was i7 gen 8 16 ram and 512 ssd. I bought this basically for future proof and it works. I use this as a home computer mostly. I still have a thinkpad chromebook 13 from 2016 which still works and I had to fix the bezel because my son fell asleep on it open.
The trick is to either
  1. go for a soild built if you bring it around - thinkpad does the trick - my youngest who is Mr. Break breaks everything from jumping over a laptop and dropped it to fell asleep on one. He had temper tantrum and he hammared onto the top of his thinkpad 13 and the computer survived.
  2. buy one that has powerful processor (i7 or a later gen i5) with enough ram and ssd so that it won't feel slow as time passes

LG laptops are bad, yes, but acers are not better... avoid both

btw this is not a good model due to cpu overheating. With ARM windows laptops now we have much better choices. I feel like these should go cheaper.

Windows laptop experiences are so frustrating that I moved on to Macbook and I am a lifetime PC and Android user.
