The charging port is not type-C.
There are USB-A to razor charging cables available, which at least relieves the need to lug the wall adapter around while traveling. A couple bucks from Aliexpress, or a few times that from Amazon, with their seller costs factored in.

Shouldn't be that hard to find a Type-A power port somewhere, and unless one is Sasquatch-level hairy, charging isn't a frequent need anyway.

I can't speak to newer models, but my older Arc 3 came with a power adapter with 5.4V and 1.2A output, only slightly more than what a bog standard USB-A port will deliver, so it's the same level of power, just from a different kind of source, and a straight input without some sort of conversion needed.

As long as these razors can last (mine is from 2013), I'll bet on the simpler Panasonic charge connector over a Type-C port for durability.

Thank you! I have two ES-LV65s now because buying a new one was basically the same price as a new foil/razor. Sounds like you consider the new one an upgrade? Does it have a physical lock switch for traveling?
It does have a lock feature for travel but it is not a physical switch like the ES-LV65.

You need to hold the power button for a few seconds after powering on the shaver, then it'll show a lock icon on the shaver. To unlock you hold the power button again for a few second. Not as easy as the physical switch, but easy enough.

I've this and this is a great price. Those worried about usb-c this shaver gives you about 10 shaves before you need to charge it. I have used on a number of 2 week trips without any issues.

This version wasn't released until 2023, so the one you are referencing is a different one.
It is an ARC 5 though it looks like this one is slightly changed but clearly the ARC 5 line and it even looks very similar with some slight changes like the charging window:

How's this for shaving the head bald compared to the Braun 9?
I use it for my face and head - beats the Braun by far.

I would jump on this deal but it doesn't have the charging contacts on the back to use in the cleaning station - I use the cleaning station mainly as a drop-in charging dock.

Type c matters to me for travel. Most of it not all of my devices are usb-c as it's easier to deal with 1 charger vs many. Even babylisspro newest clippers/trimmers are usb-c rechargeable now.
I mean, that's cool and I look forward to that, but I do not own a single bathroom appliance that has a USB charger connection. I didn't even know they had them.

Aliexpress has an adopter for less than $2. Usb-c to shaver.
Do you have a link to this adapter? Lol think I'd rather carry that instead of a cable specifically for that

...yes, do tell which Made in Japan razer you're using with USB-C
I also have the usb-c model I picked up in Japan and it has been excellent so far. It's called the "Lamdash 5 Pro" over there and the model number is ES-L580U.

saw a reviewer recommend the Braun Series 9 overall due to comfort and noise, while Arc5 had a slightly closer shave.
would be curious about users' comments if you've tried both
