People don't like to hear it but you could always run Linux on it with 8gb just fine. We are getting to the point where the average desktop user wouldn't miss out on anything running Linux instead of windows.
In fact I find immutable distributions such as Fedora Kinoite to be amazing for aging parents that tend to screw up windows all the time. They cannot go and screw up the OS like you can with windows.

These are all on cut rate discount *BECAUSE* of the non-upgradable RAM situation.
That is a little bit too reductive. It is only one reason this one is so cheap. Pretty much every aspect screams entry-level here. As such, it has its uses!
In addition to the soldered RAM (which is sad, but not a deal breaker for many):
This is a refurb. That is the number one reason it is cheaper than similar new ones.
This has a TN panel, so poor viewing angles, but still usable for basic viewing.
The Processor is okay, not great, so good enough for most users. There have been many lesser CPUs included at this price range. Pentium and lower-rated N-class CPUs, for instance.
The SSD is smallish but will get you by if you don't want to upgrade it and don't need to save much personal data/pics/movies/games/or tons of apps to it. Pretty cheap to upgrade the SSD for those who care to tackle that DIY project.
In general, I am concerned that this is a Lenovo (based on all the hinge complaints they don't seem to want to deal with regardless of it being under any warranty). I do not even know if this issue has been improved. I've not seen any good news about that being updated with these lower-end models. I have read it's a better hinge design for their higher-end models, but I'd be concerned and check reviews first for those.
This is a decent deal for what it is as far as specs. Just set your expectations for a basic use laptop with a meh display, decent use for surfing, word processing, and videos (not the best movie experience, but okay). It may not last more than a few years before the CPU or RAM limits come into play, or some other issue comes up.
There are SIGNIFICANTLY better laptops at about $300. If you can't do that then this is cheap and you could get it.
TN displays look terrible. The CPU is worse than $300 laptops had in 2021. In a nutshell, that's why people are getting grumpy about continual posts of terrible 7520U and 7320U laptops. They're bad CPUs for people who don't know to buy a better one for the same price. It's a scam.
And trying to steer people clear to help out as vendors clear this glut out is getting old. I don't have a horse in this race.

for anyone that dislikes the deal, name a better sub $200 laptop currently available?
