Normally asus specifically states "IPS-level Panel" in the tech specs for the laptop display, if that's omitted it's usually tn.
The screen in this laptop is awful, being tn (twisted nematic), 60hz, 250nit, 45% ntsc (~62% srgb). Literally the only redeeming qualities are that it isn't below 1080p resolution, and that it's 30nits brighter than the 220nit absolute bottom tier fhd tn screens. This is essentially only a single step above the lowest tier fhd screens you'll find in laptops period. Viewing angles are non-existent, the screen is quite dim, and colors are dull and washed out.
The core 5 120u is essentially a much higher clocked 12th gen i5-1235u with a slightly improved memory controller and slightly higher clocked igpu, it's approximately 15%-20% faster overall. It's for most intents and purposes a three generations old alder lake cpu. While it has 10 cores, only two are p-cores, the other eight are single threaded e-cores for a total of 12 threads.
This laptop has only a single ddr4 sodimm slot for uppgrading and only a single m.2 slot (gen4 2280, occupied by the 512gb ssd). The battery is only 42WHrs, which is standard for budget tier but still somewhat disappointing at this price.
Overall, if this laptop had an ips screen, it would be a decent (but not incredible) value at $380. Considering the far cheaper laptops with relatively similar specs and tn screens that have been available in the past, this isn't a good deal.

How is ASUS with BIOS updates on their laptops?
Also, anybody expect laptop prices to go up a little because of the increasing tarriffs and demand for people upgrading before Windows 10's expiration in October?
I'm moving on from a HP laptop because even my 7 year old 8th gen Dell is still getting BIOS updates (last one was December 2024). Dell latitudes and inspirons are always pricer than other brands. I actually checked for BIOS updates for a 12th gen inspiron on Ebay and there were still updates for it from December 2024.

It is also why people are supposed to put the name of the store in the title when posting a deal on slickdeals, although most people don't seem to comprehend this.
