Hmm.. I was just reading about the 1.5TB PNY version at $110. The 1TB is on sale for $70. 512GB for $36, 256GB for $20.

Serve the home got 103MB/s write and 151MB/s read copying 8k video and the speed was consistent. He was testing the 1.5TB model.

https://www.servethehome.com/the-...n-value/2/

It has the same UHS-I, C10, U3, V30, A2 rating as the Samsung.

Some people's diskmark screenshots on Amazon reviews for the Samsung only showed 83MB/s read and 64MB/s write.

These cards have varying and inconsistent read/write speeds, specifically on the Evo selects.

I've bought 64gb, 2x 256gb and 512gb and they've all not reached their reported speeds and also 4/5 of them had absolutely horrible read/write speeds. A lot of what I've read is that there is a work around through formatting with a KDE Partition tool. But frankly got tired of having horrible experiences over all that it just want with the effort. Highest speeds I would get were 30MB on a 256gb with the rest peaking at 6-10MB just copying pictures.

I think switch 2 will be moving to a faster micro sd card standard with real big speed difference. I am pausing my micro sd collection for now as prices may drop a lot for all 100-130 mbps models once switch 2 release Big Grin

I'm waiting for Samsung to release a 2TB version so I can put it in my MBP to use for Time Machine.

I don't think prices will drop when demand suddenly increases for them.

Tempting to get this for my 500gb steam deck I just ordered. But I think I'm going to try limiting what I install and live with the limited storage for now. I really don't need my whole library installed.

I'm using a Samsung A35 with a MicroSD card no problem. They've removed the headphone jack for this model though...
Runs just fine with long battery life unless you like to play 3D games.

PNY is a shi— er, not the best brand for SD cards, especially at that capacity. Stick with Samsung or Sandisk whenever possible.

I don't know how Sandisk is with SD cards, but I don't trust their usb sticks. I had a sandisk usb stick put away with some movie files on it, and the other day I went to transfer some back and 1 of the files is corrupted somehow, and freezes during the transfer, you can still play it from the stick but cant transfer it off.
Years ago someone I knew had a Sandisk usb lock up and go into read only mode, couldn't put anything new onto the stick, I've only used PNY and never had a problem with PNY usb sticks. I took a chance last year buying that Sandisk, I figured it was probably just a bad stick years ago that person had but after my experience with this newer Sandisk usb, I won't buy their usb sticks anymore.

Mine does. Galaxy a54.

So what if the card cost more than the phone?

Still holds all my music, photos, and videos.
