I got this after the battery in my Wyze crapped out. It is better. Better navigation. Has a sensor so it follows walls instead of constantly nudging them as it goes. Cleans rooms about 10% faster than the Wyze. Bigger dust bin. Much bigger battery. The suction motor is quieter on the lower settings. The brushroll does make some chattering noise on hard floors, but I imagine all silicone brushroll vacs probably do that. And unlike the Wyze, the brushroll runs all the time on rugs/carpet instead of stopping and starting constantly. I haven't used the mop.
I got it for $133 with coupon code RRSAP2025013021025822AZR on the Roborock website
Upgraded from the s6, it runs quieter and fills the bin way more with corgi hair

Vacuum wars had it at #2 for their "Top 5 Best Budget Robot Vacuums Under $300"
https://vacuumwars.com/best-budget-robot-vacuum/

Why did I go find this link? Because I watched far more of his videos on youtube than I care to admit when purchasing my last vacuum
haha Vacuum Wars a great (and fun) resource! Also this youtuber also provides incredibly thorough detailed reviews on cleaning robots.

I bought this and as my first robot vacuum and it's awesome after you get used to it. It's a very simple mechanism, spinning brush pulls trash towards the vacuum, "mop" is basically a small water tank that drags a wet pad across the floor with the water tank keeping the pad wet. Not too dissimilar to a swiffer wet. It's great for daily maintainace of your floors before they get too dirty. You hide your wires and pick up stuff off your floors first time you use it, let it run and map the house, set no-go zones where the robot will struggle/get stuck etc or where you can't hide wires.

Pretty good at climbing rugs, climbed over some flat char legs before as well but I just make those areas no-go zones.
Starts up super fast and goes to work. If it's lost it positions itself super quickly.

I got a dreame l10s with a camera since and let the Roborock be used by a relative, and the dreme technically cleans better but is definitely more of a headache to use and takes forever to get started, if it needs to get picked up to remove some stolen wires etc it will mostly get lost and not know where it is. Object detection is about the same as the Roborock as well.

Hoping this comment is useful for anyone on the fence! Overall for 140, it's made its money back on time savings alone, has kept my floors feeling not dusty, and frees up my hands to do other chores I might normally not have the time to do after meals.
Im surprised to hear about the Dreame L10s, supposedly a good system, unless the L10s ultra is different than the L10s

If this has rollers like Q8, then grab it since cleaning is so much easier.
Yes. It has the dual roller system invented by iRobot Roomba.

Is the Roborock Q7 max for 200 a better deal than this or this Pro model tested and works better in comparison to the other . Will be my first Robot vacuum purchase.

I meant to say the l10s ultra. its definitely one of those 'better on paper, not as good in practice'. I feel as if they tried to stuff a lot of features into it but its not as refined. Its object detection was supposed to be good but it has eaten wires and ran over stuff quite often, even scruffing up the roller. The mopping is quite great since it actually scrubs, but the app, multifloor capabilities, etc are super finicky and require some babysitting sometimes. It can be had for as low as 330 refurb on eBay which is a great value, but I would probably suggest a Qrevo on sale/refurb over this for the auto-empty and cleaning features for a mid-level vacuum mop.

Overall, at half the price the q5 pro is probably the better starter vacuum for basic needs to get started in the world of robot vacs.

they kinda look the same tbh, I'd go for the cheaper one and then save the money to upgrade in the future.

Not at all. Q7 frankly stinks compared to the Q5.
Look at the specs between the two.

- Q5 Pro 5500 vs 4200 PA suction power
- Q5 has larger bin and larger battery
- Q5 has a dual sweeper roller, the Q7 is a single sweeper roller.

The Q7 mop is the same as the Q5 (a wet rag dragged around). As for no mop zones, you can do that with the Q5 Pro by creating a second map and then block off the carpeted areas you dont want it to mop.

Overall, the mop in the Q5 and Q7 stink, so dont buy them for that feature.

The Q5 Pro is a lot better than the old Q7. See above post.

100% agree. Same situation. A tremendous upgrade to my Wyze.
Me too. On my 2nd replacement battery for Wyze. It's getting relegated to basement duty

Can this model create a map with no-go zones that I can send it off to specific areas?

I loved the mapping on my old Deebot but went through 3 of those (refurbs) and done with that brand.

Not directly in the app. However, you can accomplish "no mop" by creating a second map and block off the areas you dont want it to mop.

However, do not buy this for mopping. its a glorified wet swiffer.
