I got this after the battery in my Wyze crapped out. It is better. Better navigation. Has a sensor so it follows walls instead of constantly nudging them as it goes. Cleans rooms about 10% faster than the Wyze. Bigger dust bin. Much bigger battery. The suction motor is quieter on the lower settings. The brushroll does make some chattering noise on hard floors, but I imagine all silicone brushroll vacs probably do that. And unlike the Wyze, the brushroll runs all the time on rugs/carpet instead of stopping and starting constantly. I haven't used the mop.
I got it for $133 with coupon code RRSAP2025013021025822AZR on the Roborock website
Upgraded from the s6, it runs quieter and fills the bin way more with corgi hair

I picked up two of these when they were on sale for ~130 on BF. Have run both of them daily ever since.

The basement one has no trouble with our thick carpet, and once I marked transition areas in the app, it could go from linoleum to high carpet with no trouble.

It's easy to set no-go zones and invisible walls, so you can keep it away from areas like the giant pile of cables under your bed (you guys have one of those, right?) or your Christmas tree.
And speaking of under your bed, it will easily fit under mine (cal king with support posts etc) and has no trouble getting around down there to clean areas I would never be able to reach with a push vacuum.

I do run them every day and I don't have pets, but after the first week the dustbin fills up slowly enough that I only empty it once a week maybe.

On my "hard wood" (LVP) upstairs, it will pick up every crumb from the kitchen floor and it automatically detects the rug in my living room and switches to "carpet mode".

Overall I couldn't be happier. The app is easy to use and I've never had trouble with it. Picks up better than expected and it's really nice having it on a schedule to just run nightly. It's part of my lock-up routine now to check for cables on the floor before I go to bed and I wake up to a clean kitchen floor.
Never tried the mop feature and don't plan to. Thought I would want the auto-empty but the capacity of the tank is big enough that it never fills up too quickly in my house.

I just received my order from Amazon which looks definitely not brand new with a lot of scratches and dusts on the sides. Returning for a replacement.

Edit: So I tried connecting to the device and found out it's been used for 31hrs and has cleaned 1919 square meters (20655 square feet). there's also a history and it was first used on 1/6/25.

I have to echo this statement. This is one heck of a great vacuuming robot especially at this price! The bin is huge (so no need for a big ugly docking station and the charging only dock fits under my bed!), navigation algorithm is quite impressive, app works well, and the vacuum picks up everything. Massive upgrade from my prior units, wow has the technology improved!

With that said Im still very tempted to get a Qrevo, but the mopping units still appear an immature and rapidly evolving tech. The manufacturers are figuring out how to make them perform optimally and what features are needed -- as evidenced by the rapid evolution in features as they address omissions in real world use (such as smell from dirty water, etc), and reliability appears an issue with many of them.

Not at all. Q7 frankly stinks compared to the Q5.
Look at the specs between the two.

- Q5 Pro 5500 vs 4200 PA suction power
- Q5 has larger bin and larger battery
- Q5 has a dual sweeper roller, the Q7 is a single sweeper roller.

The Q7 mop is the same as the Q5 (a wet rag dragged around). As for no mop zones, you can do that with the Q5 Pro by creating a second map and then block off the carpeted areas you dont want it to mop.

Overall, the mop in the Q5 and Q7 stink, so dont buy them for that feature.
What is a good one for mopping below $200?

None right now.The decent mopping vacuums prices are over $500 new for even 1 year old models. Newer models are over $1k.

By November the current crop of $1k will be available for half the price (or less refurbished)

We got this deal last time around a month or so ago and love it. Upgraded from a non-LIDAR Eufy and while the Eufy got the job done for the most part, it's insane how much more control and customization we have now.

Only slight gripe I have so far is I wish I could have it vacuum a specific area (our kitchen) twice over cause it tends to miss some crumbs our toddler leaves around. Anyone know if this is possible?

Yes. Create a cleaning routine by adding each room you want to clean and not use the Full Cleaning. At the room level you can edit how each room will be cleaned (i.e. number of cycles, and suction power).

In for one. My 3rd-4th (?) Neato just went tits up. A D8 Connected. I have also had Roombas. My experience is that regardless the brand they last about 18-24 months with daily use. I like the lidar type that works in an organized manner.
Not sure about this vac but I have an S6 I bought in 2021. I have done some maintenance to it in terms of swapping out a wheel, swapping out the lidar unit, and just recently put in a new battery. Still runs great. Pretty easy to do if you have some skills. I will pick this one up though and use it to swap my S4 which is used in our upper level. Hopefully they keep these vacs easy to maintain/repair by the owner.

does it continue where it left off if the battery went below 20% and it had to return to dock for recharge?
I have the first gen and still using it..I just replaced battery recently and other than changing brush / filters etc it still works

My older Roborocks do continue where they left off if it goes back for a charge.

Does the Roborock Q5 Pro Robot Vacuum do it as well?

For those interested, we have 2 Wyze vacuums that are 2.5 years old. Still going but brushes had to be replaced and batteries weren't lasting as long as they once did so we bought 2 of these. Comparison wise, the battery on the Robo lasts longer. Each floor is about 1500 sq ft and they do it with ease and still has about 40% of the battery left whereas even when new, the Wyze was down to 1 or 2% when returning to dock station (2.5 years later they run out of battery and have to resume cleaning after re-charging). The RR has much better suction than the Wyze (noticed this on the carpet), only caveat is that it also wants to eat cords more than the Wyze. One thing I noticed over the Wyze single brush roller is that it does a much better job of eating my wife's long hair. We had to clean the Wyze brush every time it vacuumed because the single brush was a tangled mess across the entire roller. The RR double brush has hardly anything on it afterwards. Pet hair is no problem at all. Seems to be able to get under and between all the same things the Wyze did. The lift on the RR seems to be higher than the Wyze also and does our shag (frieze) carpet with ease. Dust bin is much larger on the RR as well. We like them and will be keeping them.
