A lot of one star reviews complaining about it popping, burning, melting, two prong cords not staying in, plugins too close together.

What is strange is the bad reviews are hidden. You have to sort by negative reviews to find them.

NO US safety UL certification.

They claim to meet European (ETL) safety standards, but provide no proof.

Typical Chinese stunt to claim they meet certification standards, but they don't appear on UL or ETL websites.

I bought this last week but no where on the packaging does it say that it's 900J. However, the product itself has 1080J printed on it. I'm assuming that refers to the surge protection but not sure. Why the discrepancy?

I just realized that they sent me the wrong ones. The ones I received has model 10632 on the packaging, which has 1080J according to the KMC website. They also look different than on the listing.

I was going to return them since the info on the listing and on the product I received didn't match, but I'm going to keep them.

You guys are nuts buying this crap. Seller can't even bother create a listing. As someone pointed out, one of the listing pictures says "his hole can be fixed where it is needed".

You are not saving much money and it is just dangerous to have sketchy power strips.

I was at HD store yesterday, and their clearance section has bunch of GE surge protectors. Just check clearance from time to time and you will have yourself a deal

I had a pair for couple of years now and they held up good, and I have only two complains:
- on one of them the on/off switch LED light is gone...
- pretty big wall plug footprint (if you want to cover it with some furniture)
