Don't do it! I bought in on the deal in December and 4 ports have already failed on the unit. Also, the 100w is only shared by the top two ports. It's 2x USB-C (100w shared), 2x USB-C (15w shared), and 2x USB-A (12w shared). When working the top two ports do indeed deliver 100w, but the bottom 4 are really only useful for maybe a 15w wireless charging pad or keeping devices topped up (again, assuming the ports function). I still kinda like the idea of this thing, and I suppose you won't get a 100w charger for cheaper... but suspect there's a reason they keep unloading them so cheap...
Unfortunate you have that experience - completely valid.
On the other hand, I have this and use this as a daily driver (if I may use that phrase) since last November or so and have not one issue had. Am completely happy with the item I purchased for around $28 or so pre-tax. As with technology unfortunately, user experience is definitely varied.
After reading the comments here yesterday I reached out to Anker again and opened a new support ticket. They're going to send a replacement and a shipping label to send the faulty one back, so I'm very pleased with that. Sorry for my rantings, and thanks everyone. Obviously haven't received the replacement yet, but felt I should apologize and/or provide an update or something.

For perspective, mine has been working great with every single port used every day. It's our household overnight charging station. Has at least two Chromebooks, two tablets and two phones plugged in every night, and the AC outlet is used for small kitchen appliances.

Are any of your USB cables defective that might've caused the USB ports to short out ? I see it all the time with the official Apple lightening cables - durability is atrocious on those. I was at my sister's place last month for instance and they're all iPhone users (4 iPhones). Literally all of the lightening cables in that household is messed up. My mom's cable is so messed up - the individual copper wires inside were fully exposed and literally just shorting each other as if some dog had chewed on it! She told me she just bought a new plug charger and wondered why it's already malfunctioning - it makes a buzzing sound. In my mind, I'm like "seriously Mom!!....Look at your cable!!!".
I can ship them the item for their engineers to 'evaluate' and once my issue is confirmed I can expect a replacement in 5-7 business days. For the $30 I paid (had some Amazon credit) I can still get 100w out of it on the top two ports and charge stuff... The hassle of paying to pack it up and send the thing in for 4 ports (providing 27w of power combined) that don't work isn't worth me having to juggle charging the kids' chromebooks without it for a couple weeks.... I kinda regret bringing my gripes up here anyway, I'm probably in the minority... also I really pushed the full wattage output on the thing with plugging so much stuff into it...
I'm glad you did bring your gripes up. It saved me from wasting my money on it.
Please add me to the list of those who haven't been satisfied with recent Anker quality and support. I've been a long time customer of Anker. Back in the day, when they were not as mainstream, I have some legacy chargers and cables which work even to this day. One time I had a problem and they send a replacement right away.
However, recently Anker quality and support have gone downhil. I have three of the simple wall chargers and also this powerstrip. I had defects in this powerstrip and one of the chargers. For the powerstrip they asked me for images and videos. I gave all that, but wasn't sure how a video would prove that something indeed is not working. Then the case had to be escalated. I was eventually told I would have to ship the defective device back to them. They would see if it is under warranty and whether it merits a replacement. After all that, I just gave up. Not worth my time for a $40 item.
It was hard to contact a resonable intelligent CSR - it's either chatbots or low level CSR how don't actually understand the problem and can't help. Anker is so well established now that they don't need to go that extra mile for support or to acquire customers.

Yeah, sorry, just a bit of buyer's remorse (and if you read the comments in the post from December as well as what few 1 star reviews Amazon let through I'm not alone)... But again, in theory, it's not a bad buy, just not one I personally would make again.

Buy new and return old. No company will learn until it hits their bottom line.
Can anyone suggest something of a similar utility but that also works as a usb hub/multiplier. Ideally I want it to have wall power to connecting high drain usb devices will no longer be an issue
