Is this a good monitor for gaming? I want to gift it to someone who primarily plays World of Warcraft and first person shooters. I'm not a gamer.

Monitors have a fair bit of personal preference for each user. If they need a fairly-budget option and play at 1440, this would be a solid screen for it. But make sure 1440 is what they want, some gamers really want to stick with 1080 for some weird reason.
