No idea why but I put on the 2001 film a few months ago and got sucked in. The five most recent where surprisingly good and I'm NOT a sci-fi genre fan normally. $5ea is a great price if you don't have all the streaming services needed to watch them all.

The original was 1968 not 1986 as noted in the post.

I saw 1986 and thought there was some phenomenally bad, buried 80s remake or a cartoon that I didn't know existed.

The new series is decent. Mostly different casts from movie to movie is a plus.

Appreciate the catch! Missed type the dates for that film when initially posting. Adjusted since Smilie

They misnamed the first movie. Sequence should've been: Dawn, Rise, War, Kingdom, not Rise then Dawn.

Rise was OK, but is mostly forgotten for a reason. Dawn was excellent. War was a step back because it slipped into "Humans BAD!" simplistic storytelling. Kingdom was interesting, but the big ending reveal raised waaaaay more questions.
