This is the best price you can get on a m2 air. For those looking for a laptop you can get this. Bought this from quick ship last year and it's fantastic. 16gb of ram is a game changer compared to the 8GB.

macbook air shouldn't be a primary computer unless all you do is browsing internet.
so you're saying everyone that buys a macbook air uses it as a secondary computer? seems like a pretty wild take. whats the primary computer?

agree, if you backup for iphone (and have lots of pics/vids) to your laptop expect a chunk of that space to be taken up

M4 MacBook Air is around the corner they're probably clearing stock
IMO the next MB Air is gonna have an M3, so that Apple can differentiate the MB Pro with the M5 chip. I think they like having their Pro and Air lineups separated by 2 SOC generations. It segments their lineup better. Those older SOCs are also cheaper for Apple to procure.

It's the same for the iPad.

Yeah, that's extremely unlikely. And that's not the way they've been doing it for every other generation.

They're just going to use the exact same tech they have in the Mac mini wrapped up in the current MacBook Air design.

The more likely scenario is they eliminate the M3 completely and keep the M2 as the cheapest option. The reason being that the first generation 3nm build process has been problematic, which is why they moved to m4 so quickly.

If that happens, I think there will be a scramble to pick up M3s on clearance.

I don't get the obsession with Apple laptops. Tiny storage, you can't really do any gaming...

If you are getting it for the internet and email, there's an iPad for that.

If you want video editing, you can do that on a Windows machine also.

Typing on an iPad is a nightmare. So I'm probably typing 80-90 words per minute on a keyboard, 20-30 on an iPad. Same with using this or that app on a touchscreen. If I got a bluetooth keyboard or stand, it adds to the bulk and moving parts of the iPad plus they're flimsy.

As for Windows machines, it's tough to find something as slim, reliable, sturdy, and with a long battery life as a MacBook air. I'm sure that it exists but it's hard to find and research every laptop model. Whereas with the macbook air, in general, I know exactly what I'm getting.

Straight garb specs, for 700$ guess the knowledge gap is still pretty large when it comes to actual computer knowledge. Enjoy that, chrome , or safari, email, os etc use will half that memory. Not even including the early 2000s HDD space lol

I was able to get the price match as well. Funny thing I never shared the Brandsmart link with the rep, I just told them I was interested in doing a price match on the 13" Macbook Air 16GB / 256GB Space Gray. never said what the price was or anything and they replied right away we will price match for the $699.99. Must have a lot of people asking for this exact deal that they don't even bother checking anything or asking for the actual deal itself, lol.

Well, its personal preference tbh. In 2025, Windows laptops are equally capable as well.

But isnt this cheaper than most full-fledged ipads? And now the M chips can run iPad apps too.

An ipad + good keyboard (not even the magic keyboard) is damn near the same price.

I also hate the cult that apple has spawned, but after using Apple devices for thr last few years I see that the ecosystem is so well streamlined for productivity and the hardware is optimized pretty nicely.

I still love to tweak and customize windows machines to specific needs, but the lines between the competition have really become blurred now moreso than they were years ago.
