Think about ordering it and getting new band and black TPU case to cover the white on the side.

I think this is the best looking one, if you like metal bands. Garmin's is like $300+ while cheaper options are available on Amazon $30ish.

The only thing that was holding me back was the White color on the watch. For this price, I can learn to love it!! Here is a great video on the difference between the Epix 2 and the Fenix 7. Oh this watch has the bigger storage, multi frequency GPS CX 50 On Sale P2 LA BothWorlds B+P v3 30 16x9 [youtube.com]
Agreed. I think I learned to love it. I don't know. I think it looks pretty cool with a dark band. Or I'm just convincing myself cause it wasn't cheap and I love the build quality/functionality enough to ignore some fugliness.

Just a couple hints on this watch. If you come from a garmin already like me(instinct 2), navigating will be virtually the same, but with exponentialy more options.

1.) Download the Connect Q app on your phone. It's like the app store on android. tons of free watch faces / apps. Lets you can change face colors / options on your phone(much easier).
2.) setup your Wifi. My Gym has free wifi and now I don't need my phone.
3.) watch some youtube videos on "epix 2 setup " There are more funtions on this watch than I ever knew existed.
4.) Every button has at least 2 functions, quick press, long press and you can change what some of them do.
5.) Check out the video on downloading music or using Spotify with wireless earbuds.
6.) If you screw everything up, you can long press middle left button, go to settings and reset your watch back to out of the box status.. Yes, I had to do this Frown
*Amazing watch with more functions than I will ever use(in two lifetimes), so enjoy!!

PS> Check with your insurance provider. You may be eligible to get $300 a year towards a Fitness tracking watch. Many providers offer this or a similar plan. Wink

I got a black band and a slate band. The slate(blue) looks similar to your picture. The blue - white combo is the best if you don't want a white strap. Here is a link for the 2 bands for $19. They are the exact same as the white band that came with it. Same length, buckle, quick connect, and symbol. I've had this watch (in white) since it first came out, and current use this band:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B1HGD7J7

I found the any silicone bands, Garmin or non-Garmin, would cause rash for me if I use them for physical activity (work, gym, sports, etc.). The nylon does not cause irritation, and the fit can be dialed in exactly. The color may not be for everyone, but I think it suits the white case well.

I will say I'm not kind to mine. I wear it daily, and it's been beat around the shop at work. While the titanium bezel shows plenty of scratches, the sapphire still looks brand new. I also leave the display on shake-to-wake, and including work outs where GPS is enabled, I can usually get 9-10 days out of a charge. I've also never had an issue with mine.

Curious, what's sets these watches apart from the "go-to-standard" of Samsung/pixel? (Not a sarcastic question, genuinely want to know.)

They are Rugged, workout/exercise oriented watches with all the perks of a smart watch(higher end versions). Their battery life on most models far exceed all other brands of smart watches. Some of their solar models never need charged. The new Fenix 8 has Microphone / speaker that really lets you leave your phone behind when working out.

I started with the basic Instinct 2 . No maps, no wifi(blu-tooth),basic non-color screen, but it has helped me exceed my daily and weekly goals of running, stairs, and bike riding. It downloads all your info into a nice app(garmin connect). The epix 2 is on par with garmin's top of the line models. I suggest you do a video search on Garmin epix 2 vs galaxy. It will give you all the details from real world users. They are just king of the hill in everything workout and have been for some time. So many different lines for each sport, but are mostly the same in each price range. Different models include, Diving, surfing, flying, endurance running, biking ...

I purchased mine (black sapphire version) when they were first released. I've beaten the crap out of it and it's still going strong. I run around 3000 miles per year and do some cycling and gravel bike rides as well. I took a hard fall last year on my gravel bike and broke my shoulder. The watch barely suffered a scratch.

My only complaint is that the battery life has degraded a bit over the years and the Spotify app can be hit or miss.
