I had a friend who got scammed by buying a pair of AirPods from someone else. The best way I could tell that they are fake is if you have an original pair of AirPods Pro then you can try to fit the earbuds in your original case. From what I saw, even though they are really good replicas the dimensions aren't the same and won't fit in an original case. They'll fit but not sit right and won't charge.

Got a pair, in excellent condition. Already have new silicone tips to replace the stock ones. Picking them up tonight.

Traded in my AirPod Pro's for $30, too. Used them every day for years and years. Wasn't planning to resell them. So, I'm happy with the discount.

Definitely not zero. I bought some BB Refurbs a few years ago (first set of air pods) and was complaining to a friend that I didn't think they were very good. After close inspection, they were fake. They even showed up on my iphone as airpods.

One thing if I've heard from people with fake AirPods was that the "hey siri" feature did not work. And I even checked in there phone and the feature was on in the settings.

I would assume it's similar to trading in an iPhone with one of the carriers—they typically send a box along with your new phone.
