I had a friend who got scammed by buying a pair of AirPods from someone else. The best way I could tell that they are fake is if you have an original pair of AirPods Pro then you can try to fit the earbuds in your original case. From what I saw, even though they are really good replicas the dimensions aren't the same and won't fit in an original case. They'll fit but not sit right and won't charge.

How does one sanitize these? I'm not very comfortable using earbuds that were in some one else's ears.

I unknowingly bought a fake pair from an online marketplace. Everything looked legit (box, paperwork, headphones etc). What I noticed was the ANC didn't seem to work so I brought it into an Apple repair center. Turns out serial number is legit but the sketchy part was once they looked it up they could see a bunch of previous tickets were opened using that serial number. So after they sent them in to Apple they confirmed they were fake. The rep at the shop even told me it was a really good fake cause he couldn't really tell.

They paired up w my phone and everything. So lesson learned.

Bought one. This will be my second prior owned set of AirPods. My son found a pair of used Gen 3's and sold them to me for $30 because he was grossed out about the whole ear wax was thing. I have been using them for a couple of years. I'm still alive! Used underwear I could undertand…..

Once the hearing aid feature is set up it seems to keep working no matter what. After setting them up (with iPhone) I've been using them only connected to my Samsung s23, or with no device connected at all and hearing aid is still working a couple months later.

I traded in my AirPod 3's for 45 bucks making this a pretty awesome deal.

Actually buying a second pair so I can trade in my AirPod pro gen 1's for 30 bucks as well.

Been a long time since I searched SD for something and found exactly what I wanted, posted just a few hours ago, and not OOS.

My new mac mini m4 being mic-less and having a horrid audio jack on the front necessitated an unconventional speaker setup using a USB dongle, and audio input from my webcam. I suspect all of this will result in a horrid feedback loop in meetings from latency mismatches, and my gen 2 non-pro airpods hurt my ears and sound like crap. Hoping these are the ticket for audio+mic, and at $115 it felt good enough to take a chance on. Wireless charging is a sweet step up for me too. Thx OP
